Light over Freeport, MI
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
The full moon was in the east. Across the sky to the west, directly across from the moon, there was the brightest, largest light I have ever seen. My daughter saw it too. We stopped the car and watched it. It was very large and bright. It looked like vehicle headlights, but approximately five or size times bigger, and was low, but very far away. I was surprised no one else seemed to see it. I tried to take a picture on my cell phone but it did not show up on the screen. It wasn't moving, but disappeared 20 or 30 seconds later. I saw this exact same light about 3 weeks later, in the same place in the sky. I was about 6 miles southeast of the area where I first saw it. Witness indicates that the date of the sighting is approximate. PD
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #124279). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
