Light over Northfield, MA
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
Ball of light was seen being followed by an aircraft, appearing to be a C130. Both passed over to the south, then circled and passed to the North. Approx 10 minutes later, both appeared in the southwest sky, and headed east northeast. Very low altitude and slow speed. Could not make out a shape of anything, only a ball of light. The aircraft following it was very clearly an aircraft, could make out the shape of it, wings, tail and all. No sound emitting from the ball of light but obvious aircraft engine sound from the aircraft.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #121273). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
