The report, as filed
I noticed a very bright light in western sky and pointed it out to a friend. Both of us watched, waiting to see it move-but it did not. It was very low, airplane height - but the white light was too bright and too large to be a plane. Besides, it was stationary. I found a spot on the horizon directly beneath object and the object remained it the same exact place. After watching it for five minutes, we joked that it might be a new star of Bethlehem - it looked the same as Christmas card depictions. Then, the light slowly got smaller, yet always keeping an intense center of light, until it became just a tiny pin prick - looking as if it would fade out completely. But, it would grow brighter and larger again. There was a pattern of the size and brightness, but it was inconsistent. Suddenly, my friend noticed a second light, 45 degrees above to the left. Then a 3rd light, same angle and distance, like Orion's Belt. Then 1st light began disappearing, reappearing. Other lights seemed to pulse more in its absence. It was still going when we left 30 minutes later.

Circle strange lights in the sky. We were coming back from a movie and saw this when we entered our parking area. We stopped the car took some pics as we have never seen such things before. Ring of stationary advertising lights at local casino. PD

It was raining out and lightning outside. I saw a flash of lighting but it stayed there for about 10 seconds. The lights went out and my cat cried and started jumping up and down. Witness elects to provide no contact information. PD

My girlfriend and I decided to go for a walk around our apartment complex in Edina. As we walked towards the swimming pool, she noticed a strange oval formation in the sky to the southwest (towards Savage, MN). The sky was dark, but not yet dark enough where you couldn't still make out the clouds in the sky. This stood out much more than the background clouds, appearing as a smoky white ring with at least six points of light, relatively evenly spaced around the ring. We looked at it for about five minutes or so, during this time it did appear to move, with the oval becoming "thinner" and then wider, it also appeared to slightly rotate. I was honestly quite awestruck looking at this, getting a feeling that this wasn't normal and didn't strike me as something that would be created by some sort of spotlights or some other ground, based light(s). Interestingly, it just sort of disappeared instead of fading away. A few minutes later I spotted a light from a plane flying high above (I didn't feel it was connected to this phenomenon, this seemed to be a passenger plane), and its light disappeared behind the clouds. My feeling is this ring of lights was cutting through the clouds, as the light was a sort of foggy light. Possible advertising lights from local casino, we wonder?? My brother walks to his job at the hospital in Edina. It was around 11:30, when he called and told me to look outside. To the southwest, I saw this very wide oval of soft lights in the distance. It stayed there for while till it faded for a second and reappeared just a few feet to the right. (Distance of a foot compared to the sky.) It faded again. I dont know what the fuck I saw and I called everyone I could close to me but they live at least 30 minutes away from me, so I don't think the viewing was correct for them. My brother saw it and so did I. Freaking out right now. I dont know what to thing about this. Suspected advertising lights at a local casino. PD

I'm sure it might not be light show. If it was light show then light rays I could have seen but its something like circular fading light rotating.
