Sphere over Hannibal, MO

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

Last night, 5-2-15, approximately 2110 my wife who was standing on our front porch awoke me to come outside. Looking to the east toward the Mississippi River, at about a 45 degree angle were three reddish orange glows, five times bigger than a star, in a perfect triangular shape sitting stagnant in the sky. The lights remained stationary for several minutes as we observed 10-12 more globes coming out of one globe that was the farthest away from the triangle in the southeast moving northwest towards the triangle. The globes then began to follow the triangular shape as it moved towards the northwest where they disappeared behind some clouds. I would probably say we watched these for ten minutes.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #118775). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

March 19th 2021 at around noon I was driving on us36 westbound through Missouri. I pulled off the highway in Hannibal, MO. To look for a UPS store and both my wife and I saw what looked like at least 100 floating gray and white “orbs”. They were floating through the air like a school of jelly fish at an altitude of around 300-500ft elevation. They were very dynamic in their own individual movements while staying together as a group. The whole group was moving eastbound seemingly with the wind current, but each individual orb was moving up and down and all around each other. They were not balloons. They had no protrusions, or wings, or anything at all coming out of them. They were not perfectly round, more of an oblong or beachball size football. The longer ends always pointing up and down. They seemed to have a gray side and a white side. They seemed to be turning around to show their white side, but all at once, and when they turned to show their gray side, it looked like they all had vanished completely. I don't know if they were actually turning. For all I know, they could have been spontaneously changing colors. At any rate, they all changed colors at the exact same time. There were 4 orbs that stayed apart from the group at around the same altitude. I'm not sure what they were doing, but they seemed to be some sort of parents or chaperones. There is a conservation area just to the east of where we were, called “Steyermark woods conservation area”. When they were over that area, what I thought at the time was a park, they formed more of a column, getting very close to the ground. We were in a huge hurry at the time and it was at this point we had to continue down the highway and it all became a memory for us. In conclusion, my own personal thoughts on the matter is that they were biological lifeforms almost like jelly fish. They moved as part of a cohesive group, but made their own individual movements within the confines of the entire unit. I've seen videos online of the exact same lifeforms in Korea and Mexico, and it makes me wonder if it's the same group or are their different schools that travel in their own wind currents.

I went to take the trash out. It was an extremely clear night and the stars caught my attention. The constellation near the moon looked unusual in some way. Very clear, bright and different than what it normally looked. I felt like I was looking at a different set of stars. Even the moon looked unusual. So much so, I ran in and called my wife to come check it out. While we were viewing the scene, she said “What’s that line of stars right there?” I looked over and there was a line of stars moving at a fast rate in single file formation. I could tell they were high up but could clearly see them approach overhead. There were at least 10-15. Possibly more. As they came closer it was easy to see they had bright lights, made no sound and appeared to be heading up and away at an accelerated 30? degree angle. The craft seemed to loosen their line and put more distance between the others and then... get ready for it... jumped to light-speed. At least, that’s what it looked like. It was amazing. We saw it. My wife freaked out. It was super cool and it happened. There are other little details. However, one stands out in my mind; the last craft in the line looked bigger than the others. It distinctly had four lights showing in a diamond formation and appeared larger. So, that’s it and it’s for real.

Was hundreds reddish white lights looked like boomerangs when enlarged. Moving east from west just south of Hannibal, Missouri, once they past me and over Mississippi river they turned north all going about same speed but a few accelerating from rear to catch up every so often underneath a bright flicker of light would trail down a short ways they may have been moving 75 or 100 mph. We spoke with the witness via telephone, and we were impressed with his eloquence, and his apparent sincerity in describing the event. PD
