Light over Baudette, MN
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
I saw 4 lights the same size as a star, but these (I saw four) lights were moving to the east in formation. If you connected the dots/lights, they would make a trapezoid shape. They all moved at the same constant speed, which was much faster than an airplane, but slower than a meteor/shooting star. They were approx 75 degrees above the horizon line & I was looking due north when I saw them. All 4 lights moved in a straight line, headed east, and stayed equal distance from each other as they moved east. They only stayed visible for approx 5 seconds.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #118547). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
