Light over Bethera, SC

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

About 9:30ish I was outside my home and noticed a very bright light in the sky above the tree line. It appeared to be a really unusually bright star. This struck me as very odd as I don’t think I have ever seen a star that bright. It seemed to flicker and move ever so slightly with a side to side motion. No noise or sound came from this object. A neighbor drove up and I asked him if he had ever seen a star that bright. t struck us both as out of the norm. He went back in the house and I continued to watch for about 10 mins or so, and then went back in the house to get my son, it was gone when we came back out 3 mins later. Neither noise nor significant movement was observed although it was flickering the whole time. This took place in Bethera, SC, beside the Marion National Forest.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #118079). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
