The report, as filed
Object seen to the ENE of Waimea, Hawaii, under clear sky with some haze on horizon. Object displayed colors of red and white, but was too far away to determine shape. Object appeared to be a plane or jet and was travelling SW over Honokaa, Hawaii. It moved in a start and stop pattern, moving horizontally a short distance then abruptly stopping, briefly hold position then straight down, abrupt stop, moved north a short distance, then dropping straight down and out of sight. Abrupt 90 degree movements not typical of known aircraft. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD
