As reported

Sphere over Poquoson, VA

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

9 years ago my dad and I were driving home after dropping off my then-girlfriend. We saw an unusual big red glowing orb in the sky, bigger than the average star. It caught our attention so we pulled over to look at it and it split into 8-12 different glowing red dots. They moved across the sky erratically for about 30 seconds at unfathomable speeds. After that, they all formed a vertical line in the sky and shot up into the sky disappearing in a flash of light.

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #178348). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
