Light over Pinehurst, TX

A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.

The report, as filed

I'm a sceptic. I don't believe ANYTHING unless I see it for myself. However, last night I was in my backyard when I happened to look up in the clear sky at the exact moment an unidentified flying object with a red light and a white light (may have had another light, but I know I saw a distinct red) darted a short ways across the sky, only to disappear into thin air. It was too low to be a sattelite, WAY too fast to be an airplane (VERY fast), and COMPLETELY silent. Living in the country, I've seen hundreds of shooting stars, and this was absolutely NOT a shooting star. It was low enough for me to make out a vague outline of the craft. Unfortunately it happened so fast it's hard to say exactly what shape it was. In fact, I don't think it was even visible for a full second. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #113863). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
