Light over Lannon, WI
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
At this point, it was extremely bright, and looked like it had some how powered up, which is the only way I know how to explain it, and it took off and was gone. We looked for it for about a minute more until it actually sunk in that we had no idea as to what it was and went inside after my son got scared. Neither my son or myself had ever seen anything like this before. A little after 02:00 am, a rain storm came and had severe lightning like we had never seen before. We were surprised to wake up in the morning and see that we still had power. I am sure that it was a coincidence, but it is definitely note worthy.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #112644). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
