Disk over Rock Island, OK
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
While working, I was driving from Poteau Ok. To Ft Smith Ark on hwy 110. Just as I was coming up to the rock island and 110 junction I happened to glance up and to my left, NW,. After looking back at the road in front of me I realized I saw something out of place . I turned to look up at it again not recognizing what I had seen and the object took off to the East and was immediately out of sight. It was a single craft, bronze to brown in color, not a flat disk but disk shaped. A guess would be it was about a 60 to a 100 ft diameter, and 30 feet bottom to top, also a guess. As the crow flies I was probably a mile away from the craft. There were no lights and no kind of trail when it left. The location would be 1 mile west of hwy 110 hovering over backbone mountain. I recently saw a pic of the same craft while reading the news on my phone, which is why I’m now reporting it.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #177166). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.
Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
