Oval over Grand Rapids, MI
A witness account on file, unevaluated. Most of the archive rests here, and honestly so.
The report, as filed
It is July 16, 2014, 9:25 pm, the reason I know what time it was because my father and law stated to my sister in-laws that he timed them out of the yard chore that had been done at 9:25 pm July 16, 2014. During this initial conversation, I looked up into the sky saw a plane coming from the south and the plane was clear enough for me to have stated sitting in front of the wing and the rear of the wing a few times in my life. While looking up at the air plane, reminiscing about old times, I noticed a oval shaped faintly lit orange object in the sky heading west moving about the same speed as the airplane I spoke of earlier. I watched this object about the size of a head of a 5/32 drill bit down to a 1/8 drill bit, then all of sudden I seen about 3/4 of an inch of white smoke behind the 1/8 inch drill bit size object disappeared. (Shapes and sizes are my point of view of the flying object from where I was standing in Grand Rapids, Michigan, while looking up into a clear blue sky the plane was about an 1 inch long in the sky. ) Keep in mind the plane was heading northeast, and the object was heading west.
Held as-reported from National UFO Reporting Center (record NUFORC #111608). Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Saw a single object moving at what seemed normal high elevation plane speed, but it had no normal plane sound, contrail, and seemed lower than normal planes. After about a minute, another one appeared flying closer than I've ever seen a plane fly to another plane. It didn't come up to it, rather it just seemed to materialize right next to it. The new one matched speed exactly, both going Easterly direction. They appeared white and oval, but they were far off so cannot confirm their shape. They did match though. It was a bright sunny day.

The craft was very large, but I can not say how large as I do not know what its altitude was. It was above the clouds. There was no sound or lights. It was lit by the moon light. It moved across the sky at a steady speed. It was clearly visible except when it went above a cloud. I was sitting in a chair, and I watched it for about 30 seconds. It was long and cylindrical. The sky was clear except for a few clouds. It was traveling in a west to east direction. I lost sight of it after it passed over my house. [NUFORC annotation: Starlink - Possible]

Should have watch longer but had to leave for work. Zoomed up as close as I could with my 2022 Samsung phone that morning. Object was very high in the sky.

Riding my bike to work around 4:35am for my 5am shift. A field to my right, tree line with houses ahead of me, I saw a shimmery bar of light. It started to move across the sky quickly and I pulled my phone off my bike to take a video. I accidently snapped a picture and then swapped it to video and took a video until it vanished. It appeared as if it was being lit by the sun over the horizon and not artificially lit up.

Playing catch with my daughter - saw a soundless white tic tac. My wife caught the last minute or so too. There other details I’d like to share via a conversation. I have videos and pictures.

Went outside to take my dog for a walk. It was a clear morning. I heard a very high-pitched whine (the sound you get when you have a bout of tinnitus). I looked up above me at the stars. Just as I did, one of the stars blinked out. Five seconds later it flashed back on momentarily and faded away again. It reminded me of how Cuttlefish use their Chromatophores to change their colors. The object started moving very slowly in a southerly direction. Every five seconds it would fluoresce, then fade away again. After a minute, it was out of sight..
