What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

I was walking at 3 am it was a very clear night. I left my house and walked about 100ft when I looked up from my phone to look at the stars. Immediately I noticed a bright white-yellow light transiting through the Big Dipper, which at the time appeared high in the north west sky. I mad no sound at all. I could tell it was not an aircraft of any sort it did not blink or change in intensity as it changed moved by, I checked FlightRadar immediately after the sighting and there was nothing. So I pulled out my phone and started filming. While filming I was thinking maybe satellite but it was really bright for that and appeared to vary in course and speed slightly. After it went behind the house I stopped filming but walked so I could see it. It seemed to approach the horizon the way in way which seemed similar to an aircraft at cruising altitude. Once it got to dim to see I checked flight tracker to confirm it was definitely no airplane or helicopter. I sat on the sighting for a few days but when I went to report it on the 21st of may I found many reports of similar objects and trajectories. Very interesting indeed! The video is pretty good! Unfortunately to big to upload. Still images are included. It shows the object as it moved nearly directly overhead from the northwest to the southeast on a heading of about 100-110 degrees. It took about 3min to leave my view before it was too dim to see. It appears to vary its course to “dodge” a star slightly as it left. Definitely no meteor, helicopter, or airplane. Perhaps a satellite. But I have never seen a satellite that bright and move that slow.

I was driving home early in the morning from a job on Oregon City. Heading north on I-205. A low flying green fireball lit up the sky for at least 4 seconds. It was like no other shooting star or meteor I have ever seen. Low and huge. It seemed as close as a passenger jet. Possible meteor?? PD

While driving a passenger vehicle east on Oregon Highway 212 in Clackamas, Oregon, I observed a golden-yellow object in the sky southeast of my position. It appeared to be one very bright object, a square or diamond shape at the top and a bright "starlike" point of light at the bottom of the diamond. As I watched, the bright "star" separated from the square looking "top", and drifted very slowly away from the "square", appearing to be descending toward the ground. Both the "star" and the "square" were visible against a clear blue, brightly lit morning sky, the sun had not yet risen above the horizon. The golden-yellow color of the objects were similar in color to a sodium vapor street light, but much brighter, and appeared to be shiny and metallic. Neither object appeared to be moving horizontally. My first thought was that the object was a cloud, but there were no other clouds in the sky and this object appeared to have clearly defined boundaries, and the top looked like it had straight edges. The objects were between me and the rising sun, seeming to be backlit and not reflecting sunlight. The objects were very bright, the larger of the 2 being much brighter than a full moon, the smaller being much brighter than Venus in a dark sky. I was working at the time so had no opportunity to stop and observe, or get a photo. I lost sight of the objects when I had to change direction to get to my destination. My wife was traveling the same road in the same direction about 5 minutes behind me and observed the same objects, but because she had a different destination she was able to observe the objects until 07:25, whereas I lost sight of the objects at about 07:15. She was able to intermittently observe both objects, the "square" lost its brightness and disappeared leaving behind a puffy cloud that faded from view. I believe the objects were a few thousand feet in the air and 2 to 8 miles away, somewhere over Carver, Barton, or Redland Oregon. If they were any farther away than that they would have been huge. The "square" was about 1/2 the size of my little fingernail held at arms length, the "star" was a very bright point of light. I don't believe the objects were flares, balloons, ball lightning, aircraft, planets satellites, or stars; I have seen all of those and this looked like nothing I have ever seen before. My wife's observations match my own up until the time I had to turn away.

My mother and I went swimming ablout 9ish, about 10 minutes into enjoying the summer evening and a relaxing swim she noticed something odd. I noticed what she was looking at and at first I thought it was just a plane, but the orb was not moving and pulsing red and white, then noticed two more lights that remained white forming a giant triangle. The lights were in the S SW are of the sky above the Lake Oswego area across the Willamette river from where we are. The size of the triangle did not remain constant but enlarged and shrunk. We let the other two younger people in the pool near us know what we were looking at. About 15 minutes later the triangle shrunk onto the flashing orb and the orb remained. Upon leaving I noticed a bright flash about 5 o'clock to the flashing orbs location.

I didn't see an actual craft. I experienced bright flashes of light around 2:30 AM. I was lying awake in bed and a bright flash of light lit up the whole interior of my house. I sat up expecting a thunder clap but none came. About 5 seconds later another flash lit up the house, again with no ensuing thunder. The flashes were way too bright, and had lit up the house too thoroughly to be a distant lightning flash and I suspected a storm was approaching rapidly. I got out of bed and went out on the porch to check it out, because I had windows to close if the storm would be a strong one. I saw a perfectly clear sky with lots of stars visible in each direction. Nothing was amiss or out of place a the neighbor houses. I'm baffled as to what the huge flashes of light may have been.
