Le 13 juillet 2013 entre 23h30 et 23h40 un témoin est intrigué par le passage successif et silencieux de plusieurs boules lumineuses orangées dans le ciel. Le récit du témoin et les photos ont toutes les caractéristiques d'un témoignage d'observation du passage de lanternes thaï : boules oranges se déplaçant au gré du vent (vent de NE relevé au Cap Ferret). L'heure et le jour de l'année sont aussi très propices à ce genre de manifestations. Le GEIPAN classe ce cas "B" : observation probable de lanternes thaï. [GEIPAN classification B — Lanterne thai]
