For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. In last 2 months myself of 2 other individuals have been witnessing alot of movement and objects in the Sky's of Randolph County, most sightings began in Asheboro NC. We actually followed several. We ended up at burkhead Mountain off hwy 64 in Asheboro. Here we were in the Country and very secluded we see 10 plus objects in the sky flying around 2 large lights which resemble stars but I've never known stars to move. We were surrounded by fields and woods. We were there for around 30 minutes observing all movement by these objects in the sky. Myself and another individual had this feeling Like we were being watched and we were not alone. We then began to hear a noise that we were not familiar with and this noise was coming from different areas around us. You would hear one and then like a response from another area. These noises are hard to describe, it was like clicks but in different tones and speeds. I know this sounds crazy but it was like a form of communication or speech. We can imitate these noises very close to what we heard and have not been able to find anything online similar to what we heard. We began to have a filling of dread or very uncomfortable so we decided to leave. Once we left these objects continue being visible in the sky and one was like it was following us as we headed away from the area. Since then I have been watching the Sky's and continue to capture images like what I did tonight. I was never one to believe in aliens or UFO but after seeing what i have with my own eyes I know we certainty that there is something in the sky that no one has been able to say for certain what it is. There was another occasion which was actually the first incounter where myself and 2 other individuals were driving and came to a very large object with incredible bright white/clear lights, I was shocked and just stopped and gazed at what I was seeing. This object / craft went from ground level straight up about 30 to 40 feet and then went straight and ad soon as it was over tree line in stopped and didn't mover for around 20 minutes like it was observing us. It was like this object was translucent except the lights on each end. I shine a red Lazer light at this object, the Lazer reflected off back towars me. I then began with different time length burst of light from flash light and my Lazer. All of a sudden more light turned on. It went from 2 lights to 4. Once this the objects began to move forward at a slow speed and was visible for a long time as it was sighted in the next hour up to 40 miles away and that's that I'm know of. If I would of been alone I would not tell this encounter as I know people would think I'm crazy but myself and these 2 other individuals all 3 saw the same things. I would like to talk to someone if there is a person interested in know all the information on this sighting and more that we have encountered and like I mentioned I do have photos to that do show objects that are unexplainable to myself and others that I've shown. If I'm wrong about this please correct me but until someone can specify what these are I'm going to continue my investigation and continue with my capture of objects with photos.

A bright light flew across the sky faster than a plane and brighter than a shooting star. It had no light trail and suddenly disappeared in mid-flight. There were 3 witnesses.

Traveling home from Chapel Hill, NC, last night (April 12, 2017, at about 8pm) towards Monroe, NC (driving southwest), I observed a very intensely bright light ball moving extremely fast across the sky near Asheboro, NC, but in the rural part of Randolph County. This was obviously not a plane or helicopter because of the lack of signal lights and the absolutely incredible speed. My first thought, after ruling out planes and helicopters, was perhaps that I saw a *huge* meteor; but, the object was different enough that I couldn't rationalize a meteor. For example, it did not appear to travel like meteors I have seen in the past which appear high up in the atmosphere and quickly burn out. In terms of assessing the possibility of larger, lower flying meteors, the object did not have the characteristic "burn trail" or "tail" that a low burning meteor typically has (at least in my experience of seeing photos of low meteors). This object was clearly moving horizontally across the sky at what appeared to be a constant altitude with no trail. The object was an intense blue/white light ball, and it appeared to have a very slight haze near it, but this "haze" could have been an optical illusion, given the brightness of the object and the speed with which it moved. Any "haze" that was present was no larger dimension than the diameter of the light ball, so it did not seem to fit with a meteor trail. I first saw the light ball when it was just about the center of my windshield as I was driving. It moved to my left, traveling southeast, and across the sky to the horizon or tree line in an elapsed time of only about 3-4 seconds. So, this light ball was clearly moving at an incredible speed whether low in the sky or higher than I suspected. I estimate it to have been lower than 500 feet, but that is clearly only an estimate, as I have no way of knowing its true size or altitude. Again, unlike a meteor, the object did not burn out - it simply moved out of my sight at great speed. Regardless of what it was, it was a fascinating experience. This is the second time in the past 2 years that I have seen a fast moving object in the general area of central NC, once it the daytime (a "craft" of sorts previously reported here) and this bright, nighttime ball of light. ((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Dear Mr. Davenport, In response to your questions (my answers are given in brackets): As you faced the object, what was the approximate direction you were looking [I was on the road, so I only know the general cardinal direction, assuming a line between Chapel Hill and Monroe, NC. I did not think to look at my car direction indicator, so the best I can say here is that I was driving Southwest and generally looking in that direction. Unfortunately, given the nature of winding roads in the rural counties, I cannot confirm the absolute direction of my vision] ..and the angle of elevation above the horizontal plane [I had to move a bit to see it past my visor in the car, so it was up past 30 degrees for sure, but it was not by any means 90 degrees from the horizontal. My best estimate would be about 45-55 degrees from horizontal line of sight] ...Was the object in the northern sky, or the southern sky, from your vantage point, [Southern] ..and was it traveling from your left to right side, or right to left? [the latter, right to left] Sorry I can't be more exact with some of these questions. The entire event took me by complete surprise. I am pleased to know that others reported this event. I would love to know what you find out about the light, if indeed you are able to identify it. Is there a means by which I can stay abreast of any updates? Would you publish any such findings? Thank you and best regards, ((END ADDENDUM))

Asheboro, NC
From my viewpoint, I saw four lights in a square formation, to the left and just below the North Star. They were only as bright as evening stars and constant, not blinking or flickering. I watched them as they move in formation from the right side of the North Star to the left side. They stayed in a square, for the most part, moving simultaneously closer to each other then away from each other making the square smaller then again larger. While doing this, they did change places, moving from corner to corner in a clockwise direction. The west to east movement of the formation ended when at the lower right hand corner light moved out further away from being square, the only time the formation was not square. Then all four of the lights disappeared at the same time. I did not time how long it was, but estimate it was about one to two minutes in duration. The lights were high in the sky and my view was not obstructed when they disappeared. We spoke via telephone with the witness, and we found him to be eloquent and serious-minded. We suspect that he is a highly reliable witness. PD

One object observed 5-6 miles (estimated) north of Asheboro Airport. Appeared to be grey in color, and shaped between an egg, saucer, and cigar. I don't think it changed shape, but possibly viewed from different angles. It was against a background of dark grey clouds. I first saw it moving from west to east, then it appeared to go straight up then back towards the west at a downward angle to approximately the same altitude as it was when I first saw it. The turns and change of directions were abrupt, and at very sharp angles. I lost sight of it at this point as it either went into the clouds or faded away. The horizontal distance it moved is difficult to estimate, bit I would put it at least 3-4 miles west to east.
