Ask for the records
What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

I was walking my dog. I looked up in the sky and noticed a boomerang-shaped metallic object flying low, it made no noise as it moved. There were no lights but I could still tell it had a metallic aura. The object was flying back and forth then left to right. It held its position for a few seconds after about 10 seconds into watching it. All of a sudden it started flying at a really fast rate of speed. I could no longer see it within 5 seconds.

My fiancé and I were sitting in our backyard, watching the stars, and he saw a very bright light moving quickly through the sky a distance away. I looked and saw it, too, and a few seconds later, the light became dimmer, and then a few seconds after that, it completely disappeared. We kept watching in the direction it was previously headed, but saw nothing.

Sitting on porch. At 21:21 I was already looking at night sky with no disturbance, out of nowhere, three orangeish red lights appeared automatically they were not far nor close. They didn't come from above or below. They stayed. Hovering east to west. One faded, then two faded and the third stayed a full minute longer before fading. At first sight, I jumped up and the other two people followed and stood behind me, I have video and film.

I was driving and looked up to see the sunset. I noticed a pulsing bright light, which I thought was a star. I thought it was strange to see a star so early. Then I realized it was getting lower, towards the horizon. After a few seconds, it disappeared, then reappeared after about a second. At that point I ruled out an airplane. I recalled that when there are such sightings, there are usually more than one. I looked up a little bit, and suddenly saw the second one. Both were descending, slowly to me, but they were so far away it's hard to gauge speed. The lower one continued to blink in and out, while the other stayed solid. In both cases, once they reached a certain point, they just disappeared. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides little contact information. PD

2 times this week, I have seen an orangish red glow speed through the sky. First time was 07/22/15 at about 0300, was seen in the northern sky over Ocoee, FL. Lasted less than a second, appeared what seemed to be about 500ft up streaked west to east in the blink of an eye the disappeared. Seen again in southern sky, same starting view point. Appeared over the turnpike in Ocoee and streaked east to west, extremely fast. Over a miles distance across the sky then diappeared. Hard to tell the shape because it was moving so fast. Both seemed to be at the same altittude. And lasted less than 2 seconds
