Le 31 décembre 2010 vers 23h30 un témoin observe le déplacement d'une tache rouge intense. Aucun bruit particulier n'est entendu par le témoin alors que la tache se rapproche puis change brusquement de direction et s'éloigne rapidement dans une trajectoire ascendante. Le témoin, après avoir vu le film et les photos qui figurent sur le site internet du GEIPAN, a reconnu avoir assisté au passage d'une lanterne thailandaise. [GEIPAN classification A — Lanterne thai]
