Les caractéristiques de l'observation ('boule de feu' coleur orangée comportant plusieurs pics à l'intérieur (flammes du combustible), stationnaire ou se déplaçant lentement, s'éteignantd'un seul coup (fin du combustible), moment de l'observation (samedi soi vers minuit...) évoquent en proportion importante les caractéristiques de l'observation de lanterne volante. L'observation présente un faible degré d'étrangeté. La consistance du cas reste faible (un seul témoin rapportant par un PV et un questionnaire pour 5 témoins) les autres témoins n'ayant pas témoigné directement. La localisation du phénomène est assez précise et permet d'envisager un lâcher sur les hauteurs face au lieu d'observation (route existante).
