Le 08 décembre 2009 entre 7h20 et 7h30 un témoin observe durant 10 à 20 secondes dans le ciel le passage d'une boule lumineuse. Son déplacement est horizontal sur une trajectoire Ouest-Est. Cette boule se désintègre en se fractionnant en deux ou trois morceaux avant de disparaître. Le phénomène décrit se déplaçant horizontalement avec une vitesse rapide et se séparant ("en explosant") en plusieurs morceaux semble correspondre aux caractéristiques d'une rentrée atmosphérique.
