Lors d'un repas de rue le 5 septembre 2009 vers 22h, plusieurs personnes observent le passage silencieux d'un objet lumineux dans le ciel. Un témoin rapporte son observation d'une boule de couleur orangée se déplaçant lentement pour soudain partir en direction du Sud à vive allure et toujours sans bruit. Les caractéristiques de l’observation semblent indiquer un phénomène bien connu et souvent rapporté au GEIPAN : le passage d'une lanterne volante lumineuse. La présence d’un feu d’artifice à proximité et donc d'une activité festive renforce très sensiblement cette hypothèse.
