Le 12 mai 2008 entre 22h40 et 22h45 un témoin observe un objet lumineux qui traverse le ciel du Sud au Nord-Est. Cet objet blanc et très lumineux se déplace rapidement en effectuant une courbe dans sa trajectoire. Aucun bruit n'est entendu. Après enquête et confirmation par le REseau Français d'ObseRvation des Meteores (REFORME), ce phénomène s'avère être un passage de l'ISS (Station Spatiale Internationale) visible à Aubagne entre 22h42 et 22h47 à cette date et qui peut désormais être particulièrement lumineuse depuis l'installation des quatre paires de panneaux solaires (sa magnitude pouvant être largement négative,jusqu'à -4 environ).
