What would the paper say?
For a dated, located U.S. sighting, FAA radar data and ATC communications are the records most likely to exist. Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.

Got out of car talking to my brother. Saw a bright light moving almost like a shooting star so I pointed it out to my brother and his son. The light got alittle brighter as it passed through and disappeared but then it happened again moving same direction exact same spot start and stop. Their were planes you could see flying in same area passing through but not nearly as fast as the lights and obvious blue and red lights and flashing on planes. The lights had no tracer behind them either like a falling star. The light would be dim then get brighter as it passed through orions belt and dim out and disappear same spot. All 4 times exactly the same way. Also plans flying through lights on plane never disappeared so not like it was clouds or anything. Very clear night. [NUFORC annotation: Satellite - Probable]
