Le 17 août 1988 vers 22 heures 30 plusieurs témoins observent fugitivement dans le ciel une boule orange suivie d'une lumière bleutée. Les témoignages diffèrent quelque peu notamment au niveau de la vitesse. Bien que l'objet puisse également faire penser à la lune, il s'agit probablement d'une rentrée atmosphérique.
