Deux témoins observent, plusieurs soirs de suite et dans un ciel dégagé, un phénomène scintillant de forme circulaire. Certaines observations sont faites avec une lunette. Une vérification astronomique permet de constater qu'à partir du 17 février 1975 une conjonction Jupiter-Vénus pouvait être observée. Ces astres s'éloignaient progressivement l'un de l'autre. La scintillation produit le reste de l'effet observé à la lunette : mouvement apparents, changements de couleurs etc… Ces témoins ont fait une méprise astronomique : le cas est classé A.
