Big Sur, CA

At the top of a hill over looking the Pacific Ocean. Looking at the stars. Looked to our right and saw 5 bright orange lights close to each other, the farthest left light was the brightest. Then, one by one from the right hand side going towards the bright light, each one went dim until they all disappeared. Continuously looking for it again, 3 minutes later, it was further in the distance to the right, farther away, and at and angle, where the brightest light would be towards us. Then disappeared. 3 ish minutes after that, three red vertical lights were in the sky, assuming they were military, got in formation then all went south inland over the CA coast. I first explained it , in the moment to my boyfriend, as a shooting star staying in place, with lights as the tail.

Big Sur, CA

I was hiking up a mountain (South of Bixby bridge & North of Little Sur) off HWY 1 in California. I noticed an extremely rounded shape object in the sky over the mountains. The object was “gliding” at a steady speed going west, towards the ocean. There was bright light reflecting or coming from the “front” of the object while the back seemed darker. The brightness made me notice the object. The object was against light blue sky and passing thru some wispy cloud. The sun was behind me. I stopped moving, turned to my friend, then I pointed into the sky where I was last looking. The object was gone, with no sound and we could not spot anything in the sky. I knew this was not an airplane.
