Le 5 juin 1955 à 20h55 trois témoins à Cavaillon observent 20 secondes en direction de l'ouest du massif du Luberon un rectangle lumineux rouge-feu dans le ciel. D'abord stationnaire, le phénomène se déplace ensuite très rapidement en changeant de forme (demi lune puis boule) en direction de l'est. Il rétrécit puis disparait. La vérification astronomique élimine la Lune. L'hypothèse avion est abandonnée. Le GEIPAN classe ce cas C par manque d'information et de recoupement.
