Oval over Glasgow, MT
Investigated by a competent body and left unresolved. The rarest grade, and never awarded by us — only recorded.
The report, as filed
Glasgow, Montana. 2:43 a.m. Witness: U.S. Weather Bureau observer Earl Oksendahl. Five oval-shaped objects, with lights all around them, flew in a V-formation for about 20 seconds. Each object seemed to be changing position vertically by climbing or diving as if to hold formation. Formation came from the northwest, made a 90* overhead, and flew away to the southwest.
Held as-reported from Project Blue Book, United States Air Force. Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Object was rectangular in shape approximately 2 city blocks long by 2-3 stories high and emitting a bright white light from within from one end to the other. I estimate it was 1/2 mile from me at an altitude of approximately 1500 feet, flying a set trajectory from west to east down the middle of Fort Peck Lake at Fourchette Bay, speed approximately 100-150 mph. It made no sound on a particularly quiet night. I am in possession of a picture of this object.
