Disk over 20 miles north of Misawa AFB · Japan

Investigated by a competent body and left unresolved. The rarest grade, and never awarded by us — only recorded.

The report, as filed

20 miles north of Misawa AFB, Japan. 11:20 a.m. Witness: Brigham, pilot of AT-6 trainer. One small, very thin, shiny metallic disc flew alongside the AT-6, then made a pass at an F-84 jet fighter, flipped on edge, fluttered 20' from the F-84's fuselage and flipped in the slipstream...all in 10 seconds.

Held as-reported from Project Blue Book, United States Air Force. Witness text is preserved verbatim, including its spelling; nothing is edited beyond formatting.

Ask for the records

What would the paper say?

Japanese records answer to the Act on Access to Information (1999). Through Aletheca, the house instrument, anyone can commission the request — filed, chased, and published in the open, refusals included. The draft goes over already written: the records sought, and the date window they would live in.
