February 6, 2015 · 9:00 PM · FIREBALL

Carthage, MO

I saw a fireball-like object. It was difficult to determine the size since it is nighttime and I am not sure how high it was (although it didn't appear to be too high over the houses in the neighborhood), but I would guess it was at least 2-3 feet in diameter. It moved very slowly over the houses across the street, and while it flickered and was the color of a flame, it stayed approximately the same size and did not die out (I watched it until it disappeared behind some trees). There were no sounds coming from it, nor were there any vehicles or aircraft operating in the area. It was moving far too slowly and lasted too long to be a meteor or anything similar.

February 6, 2015 · 7:15 PM · FIREBALL

New Orleans, LA

The initial object was glowing bright red. I observed it for a few minutes while taking still shots and video. In the last video, 2 small, white object flew close to it. The red object released a small white object which seemed to be intercepted by the 2nd small object flying past it.

February 1, 2015 · 9:00 PM · FIREBALL

San Jose, CA

On Sunday night, my husband called me outside to see something in the sky. When I got out there I saw 2 red objects heading into the Eastern sky. As we were talking and facing South, several more appeared to the West and went up and over our house to the East and disappeared. I ran inside to get my camera and the binoculars. It was hard to tell if they were in any organized pattern. Two of them went East and it seemed one almost caught up with the other, they moved around a bit, and then disappeared. It was also hard to tell the shape even looking through the binoculars. One of my pictures shows a perfectly round orb and yet they also seemed to be on fire. As one would disappear, we'd look right (West) and others would show up. My husband saw several more than I did. What was odd is that they seemed close and far at the same time.

West Valley City, UT

Saw 4-5 reddish lights to the southeast go up from ground level and continue on to the north/northwest while increasing in altitude. There was a 'flickering' pattern to the lights, almost like one would expect with a Chinese Lantern. This flickering effect caused some color change between red, yellow and bluish hues. At first I simply thought these were lanterns, but after thinking about out a while I realized there are some real problems that would likely rule out lanterns. The most significant problem is that the distance they covered in a relatively short amount of time would indicate that they were traveling at a rate of speed comparable to that of an aircraft at landing speed. The surface level winds are indeed out of the south at the moment which would explain trajectory but not the speed. Current surface winds are only at 4mph. The lights traveled in north/northwesterly direction for about 3-5 minutes, eventually ending up due east of my location. All 4-5 lights eventually dimmed and then disappeared completely as they gained altitude.

Conway, SC

I was on my way to the Kangaroo Refuel gas station off of Millpond Rd. in Conway. As I was driving I looked to the sky and saw 9 bright orange/red orbs falling slowly from the sky. They seemed to be very close to earth, to the point where they continued to fall to the ground beyond the trees until they were no longer in my sight. They were in a line, yet not straight, they curved, some lower or higher than the others.

January 27, 2015 · 8:15 PM · FIREBALL

Cocoa Beach, FL

Walked out on our condo balcony at approximately 8:15pm on a clear, cool night facing east across the Atlantic Ocean and immediately noticed a bright orange fireball above the horizon line. The object appeared to be rotating and on fire with alternating colors of bright orange and red. Then a second light appeared North of the first light at a slightly higher altitude with similar orange-red fireball characteristics. It's difficult to determine the altitude from the ocean but the distance between the two flaming orbs seemed to be many miles apart. Then suddenly, the first light faded away from view. Several minutes later, the second flaming light faded. The lights seemed to be rotating and on fire. I saw the entire event from my binoculars. Unfortunately, I did not record the event.

January 27, 2015 · 8:05 PM · FIREBALL

Lakeport, CA

In the eastern sky I saw a single bright red/orange light. The time was approximately 8PM. It was hovering in one place for less than a minute, then seemed to slowly ascend into the clouds. It was silent.

January 25, 2015 · 8:15 PM · FIREBALL

Buckeye, AZ

Two orange flashing lights that were stationary, seemed to be flashing small beams of white and red. They were not as high as the airplanes (we are approx 30 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor, we see a number of aircraft daily). One abruptly went dim but the other flashed longer, tried to video with camera but can only see small pulsating light in the recording. They were southwest from my vantage point. I would not have even noticed because of the many aircraft regularly in my vicinity, but bright, stationary lights that pulsate, then dim, then begin to pulsate, before disappearing, is odd. Using field glasses I could see they were circular. They did not move but seemed to be hovering. Very odd and I have to say after wracking my brain for logical explanation, this has left me scratching my head.

Spring, TX

Walking dog in neighborhood I noticed 1st reddish what appeared like a ball of fire. It did not ascend but just appeared in sky. About 40 sec later a 2nd and another 40 sec a 3rd. They took exact same path. About 3-4 min later it happened again like the aforementioned. Then 3-4 min later it was just 1 but same appearance and same path as previous 6. I am a pilot so know aircraft lighting configurations and they were not aircraft and it was very quiet, no noise of jets. I thought maybe those Chinese lanterns, but they did not ascend from ground, just suddenly appeared in sky, approx. 45 degrees from horizon.

January 24, 2015 · 9:14 PM · FIREBALL

Austin, TX

Standing n front yard. Well lit but dark for suburbs. First saw an odd shaped light appx due east, appeared to maybe be rising in elevation. At first mistook it for aircraft. No sound though highway noise was present. It appeared to be sort of floating but still moving away. Just didn't move right. Slowly faded above and behind treeline. As first one faded a second appeared from due south above treeline moved north and arced east on exact same path as previous. Identical flight pattern and characteristics and craft appearance. As it faded to the exact same location as the previoius another appeared from exact same location on same path. This repeated for a total of 4 craft after the first. Very strange shaped lights, flight behavior, path and movement. No noise. First thought: Airplane/Jetliner Second thought: Helicopter Third thought: Absolutely no idea. If it's a helicopter or jet, its not like any I've ever seen. My 11 year old son grabbed my phone and we videoed the last one. Video sucks but I \ve got it.Its from my phone. We know it's probably explainable but really want ot know what it was. So if you could help us figure that part out that would be great. Night is overcast no stars visible.

January 24, 2015 · 8:50 PM · FIREBALL

Vancouver, WA

At approximately 20:50, myself and one other witnessed an orange orb shoot straight up over Portland, 10' west or Orion on a NW course. Once it was out of site a second one appeared and took the same path. Each one took approximately a minute or less to go out of view. As the second orb was to go out of view, the second appeared with a red light as if to signal the second and then both were gone. No sonic boom or FAA lights on either craft. We were viewing NW of the airport and planes were taking off NE of these orbs. Witness works as a medical professional. PD

"Fireball" Size: relatively large. About 10 X Venus. Color: orange, flickering faintly. Shape: circle or sphere, no tail. Speed: much slower than satellite or meteor, much faster than aircraft. Straight-line south to north, no apparent change in speed or direction. Altitude: difficult to guess. Observing conditions: outdoors, clear night sky, little light pollution.

January 23, 2015 · 9:52 PM · FIREBALL

Belgrade, MT

At 9:52pm, I stepped out for a smoke, and in Manhattan, MT, I have been watching the LoveJoy comet, and in the direction of the Belgrade Airport, I see 2 orange glowing orbs rising straight up from the ground. So I yelled to my step son to come outside and check this out, and they flew/floated. They wasn't going very fast, and the flight pattern was definitely not an airplane or any other Flying Machine the 2 crossed like they was confused and then 4 more came up from the ground in a vertical flight flying very close to each other still at a slow pace and headed straight up toward the east and disappeared into the cloud cover. I took a little video my camera sucks and the battery was dying, but I caught a couple of them on video at least they made no sound at all just 6 bright orange burning lights

Green Cove Spring, FL

7 cop cars whizzed by me with blue lights and sirens within seconds of it appearing. What scared me the most is it seemed nobody else saw what I was pointing out. What scared me the most was that as soon as cops appeared, the light in the sky started to........ disappear. (( Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD)

No sound. Traveled quickly. Dimmed, but did not disappear.

January 18, 2015 · 7:00 PM · FIREBALL

Fountain Hills, AZ

2 Fireballs seen over Fountain Hills, AZ. Poorly photographed with my phone. The fireballs flew approximately 1500 meters overhead, from east to west, making absolutely no sound. They were a bright red/orange color and they flew in the same path, hovered briefly then continued on until making a sharp ascent disappearing into the night sky. I see them often, they are not planes (no navigation beacons) they do not follow the standard flight paths, they are not helicopters, nor are the lanterns, flares, or fireworks. I am not sure what they are and I am both fascinated and maybe little frightened by them. They appear more often now than in past years.

Apache Junction, AZ

I was just driving home on the US 60, and I noticed something that looked like it was on fire, falling from the sky, and it was leaving a trail behind it. The trail was really long at the highest it was then as it got closer to the ground it was just a ball falling very slowly. It's still happening right now looks like it may be over Florence.
