Le 8 juillet 2008 à 21h25 depuis le sommet de la montagne de Bergiès, des témoins sont intrigués par un point lumineux de forte magnitude qui apparait et disparait plusieurs fois dans le ciel. Les témoins le localisent à l'aide du chercheur d'une lunette astronomique. Chacun leur tour ils regarderont dans ce chercheur et décrivent un objet ovoïde d'une couleur gris acier,se déplaçant lentement (avec un mouvement pendulaire pour un des deux témoins). L'objet se déplace en direction du Sud avant de disparaitre. Ce cas est d’étrangeté élevée de part la forme de l’objet observé à travers le chercheur 9x50 d'une lunette astronomique. Il est également de bonne consistance, les témoins étant qualifiés et rompus à l’observation intensive de jour comme de nuit (voir le compte rendu d'enquête). L’enquêteur dépêché sur place par le GEIPAN n’a rien relevé d’anormal et confirme le témoignage et la bonne foi de Monsieur A (Monsieur B n’étant pas présent lors de sa visite un mois après l’observation). Ce cas est classé D1, observation inexpliquée, moyennement étrange, de bonne consistance. [GEIPAN classification D — Phénomène étrange de consistance moyenne ou forte]
