February 14, 2016 · 4:35 AM · FIREBALL

West Suffield, CT

LAYING IN BED LOOKING OUT WINDOW AND SAW A BRIGHT FLASH TRAILING FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST. IT APPEARED GREENISH IN COLOR TO ME, I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS SHOOTING STARS AND THIS WAS A DIFFERENT COLOR THAN I HAVE EVER SEEN. ALSO SHOOTING STARS THAT I'VE SEEN HAVE ALWAYS APPEARED TO BE HIGH IN THE SKY, THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT IVE SEEN ANYTHING THAT I THOUGHT COULD'VE ACTUALLY LANDED OR BURNED UP CLOSE TO GROUND, IT REALLY SEEMED TO GO INTO THE TREE TOPS. I WONDER IF IT WAS SOME SORT OF METEORITE THAT MADE IT TO THE GROUND, BUT SEEING ON HERE THAT OTHERS APPARENTLY SAW THE SIMILAR OCCURENCE FROM ALL OVER THE STATE.

February 14, 2016 · 4:30 AM · FIREBALL

East Hampton, NY

I was awake in my bathroom, when the room filled up with orange light as i a truck with bright orange lights were backing into my driveway. When I looked out the window I noticed the light was coming from the sky, approx. 45 degree angle from the North horizon. The light was orange, bright and confined to a small area in the sky- a few seconds later is was gone. My bathroom was bright enough from the light that you would be able to read a book. At 6:37 a.m., I saw a greenish/blue object in the sky. It had a tail (for lack of a better word) and a ball at the end. It flashed for only seconds. What the heck was it. It basically looked like what a meteor looks like, but was greenish/blue. Strange....... Video captured by a beach camera at Doheny Park, Dana Pt., CA. Object appears to us to be a meteor, streaking from west to east. Please see video on NUFORC homepage. PD

February 11, 2016 · 3:45 AM · FIREBALL

La Junta, CO

I went to let my dog out, and when I looked up I saw what looked like falling stars or meteors. When they finished entering our atmosphere, they seemed to separate, slow down and stop moving (just hover). After around 30 seconds they appeared to start firing at each other. I even saw them blowing up. After around 25 minutes of watching this display, I figured that I had freaked myself out enough and went back to bed. Later that day I saw nothing on the news or internet about it. I thought I was going crazy, until I saw someone from FL posted a video of the exact same thing I had seen (only without the shooting). Is there anyone else that saw this kind of show or behavior? Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

February 10, 2016 · 6:15 AM · FIREBALL

Cutler Bay, FL

They kept heading south and at about a 45 degree angle to the horizon the ball split into 5 smaller objects. They remained side by side for the most part. These 5 objects then appeared to slow down to almost a complete stop before slowly disappearing from my line of sight. They were an unknown considerable distance from my location during the entire event. I monitored the news through out the day but there was no mention of the event. I also contacted a local news station they had not been aware of any reports or sightings.

February 9, 2016 · 10:00 PM · FIREBALL

Alexandria, LA

I saw a what appeared to be a burning fireball streak across the night sky, assuming more than likely it was a meteor, I did notice what seemed like a commercial aircraft deviate from the path it was on seconds before I saw the fireball.

February 6, 2016 · 7:35 PM · FIREBALL

Aurora, CO

I was outside in the driveway smoking a cigarette and I seen the diamond shaped fireball come straight up from behind the neighbors houses in the distance from the northeast and it moved sideways to the south towards parker very fast and it looked like it was lowering as it started to get out of my sight because I could not see it over the houses at the end of the block anymore it was more orange then red and it had a sparkle like dot at the tip of the bottom it scared me so I tossed my cigarette and went in the house it change my whole outlook on ufo's or other life forms I have never seen anything move horizontally or diagnally that smooth and fast with no sound coming from it!

February 6, 2016 · 1:45 AM · FIREBALL

Chicago, IL

I was driving on I-294 North bond, around one mile south of Dempster, I saw a greenish fireball falling from sky in North west side of Dempster & I-294, tried to open phone camera but too late, and I called 911, which was transferred to close by Police Station, officer asked if I heard any sound, which I did not. To me if it was a plane, it would be a small plane. Surprise was that it disappeared half a mile above earth. This kind of light I have seen second time in Chicago, previous was during Sept-Oct 2016.

February 5, 2016 · 7:49 PM · FIREBALL

Austin, TX

Looking east from southwest Austin (Hays/Travis County border), saw bright orange light, seemed similar to rocket glow (e.g. Commercial launch vehicle). Saw light when I got out of car at home above roof line of house across the street, roughly 35 degrees elevation. Watched light ascend for about 25 seconds, moved through clouds (caused glow), then gone. Very sure this was a rocket or missile, perhaps even a small size amateur rockets, but have don't know if any ranges due east from viewing position, hence the "unidentifiable" report. We suspect that the exhaust from any missile would have been white or blue, given that rocket exhaust gases are very hot. PD

February 3, 2016 · 4:21 AM · FIREBALL

Kingston, MA

Driving east on route 106 in Kingston near cranberry bogs at 4:21 AM EST. Distinct green fireball flew downward in a straight path, exactly perpandicular to the horizon, and past the treeline. It flew just to the left of the moon, 160° South. The light was much larger and brighter than a shooting star, but with comparable speed and duration, as well as a tail. The sky was hazy at the time. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides little contact information. PD

February 3, 2016 · 2:10 AM · FIREBALL

Roseburg, OR

I went out for a smoke and saw four lights orange in color that where west of roseburg in a straight line from top to bottom then moved to a square formation 2 of the objects dropped below sight, and as they did seemed to rotate so that the light from them got stronger and dimmer. Then, the other two got very close and almost seemed to become one, then one rose up and headed northerly and disappeared the last object held its place for at least 30 seconds then began to descend as the first two had with its light rotating until it as well disappeared. February 1, 2016 · 7:30 PM · FIREBALL

Port Orange, FL

I was walking my dog when I seen a bright orange light north of me, while watching it there were 4 more Behind it and not going very fast. There was no sound ! There were 2 small aircrafts, one on the south side of the lights, and one off on the distance which I could hear as they passed by! They looked to be going north/east toward the ocean!

February 1, 2016 · 6:30 PM · FIREBALL

Milwaukee, WI

So, I am walking home from the gym, heading east on Wells St. towards Lake Michigan and I just so happened to be looking up at the sky. There was a very bright object in the sky, with long very bright tail (kind of what what Hollywood would portray as a meteor or a comet....or even some rocket/missle) that was traveling in a downward trajectory. Some random stranger was walking next to me and I said do you see that! Unfortunately, they were too busy looking at their phone, and by the time I got their attention, it was gone. I can tell you with 100% confidence that was no way a shooting star or a plane. It was way too big to be a shooting star and way too bright and fast to be a plane.

January 31, 2016 · 10:00 PM · FIREBALL

Allentown, PA

The object seemed like a shooting star. But the object was extremely close. Almost like a straight beam of light falling from the sky with a fireball at the front tip of it. The object was so close, that I yelled to my nephew. "Oh my God, do you see what i see? Oh i think its going to crash and explode something? My nephew was amazed, and said wow! All of a sudden, the object vanished in thin air.

January 31, 2016 · 8:57 PM · FIREBALL

Sandpoint, ID

Completly silent the orange ball looked to have round or oval object above it and moving just at edge over cloud/fog cover. Then it slowed and turned northeast then turned east again. Then it almost did a left turn instantly heading north and increased speed out of sight while remaining completely silent. I heard two jets come from east and north which both sounded like they continued south at high speed. 30 minutes later, I can hear jets at high altitude above cloud cover. January 30, 2016 · 6:30 PM · FIREBALL

La Plata, MD

I was driving on Redwood Circle in Clarks Run subdivision in La Plata, MD, when I saw a large very bright green streak of light move from east to west. It appeared to be a cluster rather than a single object. It flared out before reaching the horizon.

January 30, 2016 · 6:00 PM · FIREBALL

Hillsville, VA

Hillsvile, VA...Bright white object falling from sky, turned to green just before it "burned out". Had a tail much like meteorite but was very bright/metallic and was very close. It wasn't far above the tree line when it dissipated. Have seen 2 similar objects over Galax, VA, also but did not document dates...they were identical except were white and faded to vivid blue instead of green.
