Le GEIPAN est contacté par le témoin par email le dimanche 28 février 2010, suite à la diffusion la veille d'une émission sur TF1. L’observation remonte au samedi 23 mai 2009. Alors en vacances, le témoin et sa famille ont vu un objet rectangulaire noir évoluer dans leur champ de vision avant de disparaître par éloignement en altitude. Le témoin fera parvenir le Questionnaire Terrestre le 12 mai 2009, soit presque un an après les faits, accompagné d’un plan de situation incluant la trajectoire de l’objet ainsi qu’un dessin de la forme. Les caractéristiques de ce cas d’observation sont peu étranges, et peu consistantes (un seul rapport d’observation, sans photo). Le phénomène observé est probablement un ballon, mais d’une forme très inhabituelle. De ce fait , et comme l’absence de données météo fiables empêche de vérifier que le mouvement du ballon est bien cohérent avec le vent, le GEIPAN classe ce cas « C » : manque d’informations.
