Le soir du lundi 17 octobre 2011 vers 20h40, le témoin se trouve devant la porte d’entrée de son domicile lorsqu’il aperçoit un groupe de trois points lumineux blancs, d’une taille apparente égale à cinq fois celle des étoiles, traverser le ciel du Sud vers l’Ouest. Les trois lumières progressent de manière groupée, en triangle, et semblent s’écarter les unes des autres avant de se regrouper et de disparaître à l’horizon Ouest. La vitesse de déplacement de l’ensemble était comparable à celle des étoiles filantes, l’observation a duré moins de 5 secondes. De bonne consistance et d’étrangeté faible voire moyenne, ce cas d’observation fait penser à deux phénomènes assez fréquents : des lanternes thaï, mais la durée d’observation est bien courte, (à moins que le témoin ait mal évalué la durée d’observation) ou une rentrée atmosphérique (bolide, chute de météorite) plus conforme à la durée d’observation, mais la multiplicité des objets est rare. Faute d’une investigation plus poussée permettant de trancher entre les deux hypothèse, ce cas est provisoirement classé C. [GEIPAN classification C — Manque d'informations fiables]
