Le 19 mars à 23h45, trois amis, sortant d’un restaurant, ont observé place du Capitole à Toulouse les déplacements successifs de deux phénomènes lumineux : d’abord un point brillant traversant le ciel en ligne droite en moins de 10 secondes, puis un autre point qui décrira quelques zig-zags avant de disparaitre. Ce cas s’avère de très bonne consistance avec 3 témoins de qualité, ayant rédigé des rapports très précis mais évidemment non indépendants (voir le compte-rendu d'enquête). L’étrangeté du cas est assez faible du fait de la distance relativement importante au phénomène. Le déplacement linéaire du premier phénomène est peu étrange, le déplacement chaotique du deuxième l’est plus. Le GEIPAN a envisagé de multiples hypothèses, certaines n’ont pu être exclues totalement, mais aucune n’a pu être confirmée. L’hypothèse des oiseaux arrive en tête, tout en restant insuffisamment consolidée. Elle n’a pas pu être validée par un expert ornithologue. Dans l’attente d’éléments permettant de consolider l’une au l’autre de ces hypothèses, le GEIPAN classe ce cas en C par manque de recoupements. [GEIPAN classification C — Information non recoupables]
