Le témoin observe un gros point lumineux en forme de disque, projetant une lumière blanche très vive. Le déplacement très rapide se fait sur une trajectoire NO-SE, rectiligne et d'altitude toujours égale. Ce disque très brillant traversant le ciel en 8 à 10 secondes évoque nettement une rentrée dans l'atmosphère d'un débris de satellite ou plus probablement d'un météoroïde (météorite). Ce phénomène nommé bolide est très spectaculaire. Le réseau BOAM n'a pas enregistré cet évènement précis, mais fait état de nombreux évènements similaires la même nuit ; c'est la période de plusieurs essaims météoritiques, en particulier Eta Aquarides qui est le plus intense de cette période de l'année. Le GEIPAN classe ce cas "B" : observation probable d'un bolide, provoqué par une rentrée atmosphérique d'un objet naturel. [GEIPAN classification B — Phénomène identifié non indiqué]
