Le 17 aout 2012 à 23h35 une personne, alors qu'elle observe le ciel avec des jumelles, voit un point lumineux se déplaçant en zigzaguant et en clignotant irrégulièrement. Le témoignage est recueilli en novembre 2013. Une vérification astronautique indique deux satellites ayant emprunté une trajectoire proche : Cosmos 2322 et 2360 : mais ils sont d'une luminosité faible. Les clignotants évoquent bien sûr un avion, mais le trajet en zig zag semble incohérent avec cette hypothèse. Cette zone est fréquemment survolée par des avions de ligne sur un axe Nord/Sud : la probabilité d'avoir un avion sur cette trajectoire est très élevée. Le trajet en zigzag est bien sûr surprenant, mais cette illusion n'est pas rare : pour les avions, si les feux anticollision sont synchronisés en opposition, le témoin interprète l'allumage alternatif de deux feux éloignés comme un zigzag. De plus, peut s'ajouter à cet effet, l'illusion auto-cinétique (voir : La perception du mouvement d'un point lumineux dans le ciel). Le GEIPAN classe ce cas "B" : observation probable d'un avion, avec une illusion perceptive (feux clignotants et autokinésie). [GEIPAN classification B — Avion de ligne]
