Le dimanche 17 février 2013 vers 19h deux témoins observent depuis leur véhicule des lumières rouges alignées qui semblent être stationnaires dans le ciel. La description faite par les témoins est compatible avec l'observation de lanternes thaï : plusieurs lumières rouges dans le ciel, apparemment à basse altitude, un soir de week end. Comme le vent soufflait légèrement de l'Est (voir relevé Meteociel), ces lanternes ont pu être lâchées de Curgies, probablement à l'issue d'une fête. Comme le vent était léger et d'Est, les témoins, qui les voyaient en réalité s'éloigner légèrement, n'ont pas pu perçevoir nettement leur déplacement. Ce cas est classé "B" : probable observation de lanternes thailandaises. [GEIPAN classification B — Lanterne thai]
