Le 06 septembre 1998 vers 20h des témoins dans leur jardin aperçoivent un objet circulaire au-dessus d'un arbre d'une propriété voisine. Selon les témoins, cet objet est vu de dimensions et de couleurs différentes. Plusieurs personnes remarquent cependant que l'objet semble doté de pattes. D'abord stationnaire au-dessus de l'arbre, l'objet de déplace lentement par la suite dans le ciel. Un des témoins pourra le filmer durant quelques minutes avant qu'il ne disparaisse totalement. Quelques jours plus tard, une personne alertée par la presse témoignera à la gendarmerie de l'envol d'un ballon pour enfant gonflé à l'hélium ayant la forme et les couleurs d'une coccinelle avec de grandes pattes. Ce ballon, mal attaché au poignet de son fils, s'est envolé lentement dans le même secteur et à l'heure où les témoins ont aperçu l'étrange objet.
