I was facing NNE at ~11:50 from Northwest University and saw a white point of light fall downward from left to right at a pretty steep angle. The point of light split into three smaller points and eventually faded off. Both the single point and the three points had a trail behind them. This all happened in ~two seconds. It was roughly 30° above ground level. I would be willing to guess it was a meteor. Even if it’s not a UFO this is just to help report and confirm any other similar sightings at this place and time. I was out for a smoke when I noticed a bright light out of the corner of my eye. I looked at it and it kept slowly getting brighter and brighter (about a 2 second period) while remaining in the same spot. The brightness was incredibly bright at it's climax (like a bright white spot light glow in the sky) It then suddenly accelerated nearly directly north and straight upwards and away from me and was out of sight in less than a second. It left a definite trail through the high wispy clouds. I then noticed the blinking lights of a jetliner north west of its location that must have seen this light as well. 10 minutes later two aircraft in formation flew at fairly low altitude over my home in the direction of where the light originally was and continued in formation north. These two aircraft in formation had an audible jet noise, solid white wing tip lights and blinking red central fuselage lights. I am no expert on aircraft but they appeared to be F-16's. I have also never seen any aircraft flying in formation in this area before.

Telephoned Report: A 57-year old man reported called via the Hotline to report that on Friday, September 12, 2014, he and a group of fellow co-workers were standing at a jobsite, when one of them became aware of a rapidly approaching light, which appeared to the witnesses to be unusual. One of the witnesses, a former U. S. Navy sailor, trained in aircraft identification, suggested that the object might be an approaching helicopter, but that explanation was rejected by all the witnesses, given the apparent absence of any sound coming from the object. The object slowed, and then suddenly accelerated, appearing to the witnesses to depart vertically at very high speed. The caller declines to submit a written statement about the sighting, expressing fear of reprisal from the U. S. government. September 12, 2014, at approximately 6:10 am, I saw what I thought was the sun coming through a small mist-like cloud. The light was so bright and becoming brighter. The sun was far off to my left so I realized it couldn’t be the sun, I was facing west. The light became very bright and turned into 3 balls of bright light. The lights stayed for a few seconds and then evaporated in the same spot in the sky along with the misty cloud. There were no other clouds in the sky. This occurred in Cathedral City, California.

We were driving to work. My spouse asked me if I saw what he was seeing. I look up in the sky over near where the Mt Rose highway would be, and there was this circle of light, almost like you were looking at a car headlight sideways. It appeared that it was shining light through a smokey sky for about 7 seconds and then it slowly faded away. I have never seen anything so bright and then to fade away slowly was bizarre. I was walking my dog at a little after 6:00 am this morning (9/12/14) in Westwood area. I happened to look up towards the western sky and saw a strange light glowing behind what looked like vapor or fog--kind of like what a jet looks like when it's coming in for a landing in fog. But it wasn’t really moving. There was some movement to it, but very slow. The bright white part was about as bright as the moon, and about half the size (the setting moon was also visible quite a bit to the left and higher in the sky). As I watched it started to dissipate, then the light went out and there was a strange oblong 'glow' or vapor remnant left for a few seconds, then nothing at all visible where it had been. And there was absolutely no sound or noise associated with it. The entire event lasted maybe about 30-45 seconds. I tried taking a video with my cell phone, but it doesn't really show much and I wish I'd just tried taking a photo. I am an artist though, with an excellent visual memory, and went home and drew in pastel what I remember it looking like both when the light was bright and the vapor after it went out. I also did another drawing in pencil. I'm interested in astronomy; I have seen comets, fireball meteors, planetary conjunctions, eclipses--this is like nothing I've ever seen before. Like I said it looked like a jet coming towards me in fog, or like the top part of the moon peaking from behind clouds. It was weird and fascinating to see. The air was perfectly clear and afterwards during the walk I even saw a small plane, a helicopter, and a low flying jet headed west --and they looked nothing like what I saw; they were all crystal clear in view--no halos, vapor, etc. From what I’ve found online this morning a lot of others saw something similar. I sent an email to CBS news about it. Some others reported it to a radio station.

Was in the western sky it had what looked like 2 close lights with what I would describe it as a beam shining upward. It was not moving and then just faded away.

I saw a moving bright light similar to a fan-tail. It grew brighter and then seemed to dim and grow much bigger at the same time until it faded to nothing. I am a sober, early morning dog-walker. I walk the dogs every day and have never seen this before.

I was standing outside of my residence talking on the phone I noticed a bright light in the corner of my right eye. I then looked up towards the southwest sky and seen a bright object speeding through the night sky very fast with no sound at all then stop suddenly and then disappear within a few seconds.

It is cloudy and dark out. The stars seem to have disappeared and these flashing objects have taken their places. They all remain still in place scattered across the sky. Flashing red and blue but if you look closely, it seems like there is a slight white flash as well. We stood astonished.. I have never believed before but airplanes don't stay still, and certainly not for that long. Our power has been going out all day, which is odd because it hasn't been bad weather.. My family and I are having a movie night and so we're renting movies off of the cable box, when it kept mysteriously going out. I believe they are still out there. We sort of got spooked so came back in. I don't know what their doing or why there would be so many, but I did notice a cluster in one location, and suddenly around one prominent one, what looked like shooting stars in a cluster. Could it be them flying in hyper-speed? My imagination, curiosity and concern have never been so peeked at once.. I tried to take a picture but the lights didn't show up. walking my dog I saw a very bright light starting at about 500 feet arcing down to earth, it landed very near a "Mosiac" phosphate mine near Fort lonesome. Was a bit startling. I live in Linglestown, Pennsylvania, and was watching television on the couch at approximately 9:32 p.m. (eastern time) on September 9th, 2014, when something caught my eye from the window. I stood up and looked out, and saw about eight yellowish-white dots in the sky. I then called my mother over to see them and by the time she got to the window, about half of them faded away. About three seconds later, they were all gone. Obviously I didn't know what they were, so I examined their placement in the night sky. They were too high up to be anything like fireworks or spotlights and there were too many of them to be airplanes or shooting stars. I had no clue what they could have been. After the initial shock of seeing what I thought was a UFO, I went outside to see if I could find the dots again. It took me about three minutes of staring at the sky to realize that nothing would be coming back. I then proceeded to go inside and get on the computer to research my finding. I looked and looked and came up with nothing. My mother then informed me that she had read about UFO sightings on PennLive (our local internet news source) recently. Hearing this, I knew that I had to tell a professional about my finding, so I found your webpage. Please help me to figure out what this was that I had just saw. i was driving on 101 coming from reseda blvd heading toward hollywood i pulled over cause this objected this light it was low to ground it was turning green then blue then pinkish red kept switching color moved slow i started to take video with camera it moved farther away toward reseda blvd not toward hollywood it was hovering then began to lower itself to the ground and disappeared. there is no way it was a plane the colors were so bright changing sky was black i don't know how people didn't stop to look at this there was traffic. the area is busy a lot of houses restaurants i couldn't tell if it had a sound it was to far away from me by the time i pulled over i would love to send someone the video to look at please contact me so i can email the video.

My wife came home from work early in the morning and let the dogs out at 2 AM to go to the bathroom she observed a light in the sky moving iradically she ran upstairs screaming waking me up we both ran outside this thing was swooping from left to right to left to right at incredible speed she said when she was outside before she woke me she saw turn to an orange color and then turn back to white what I mean by swooping is it wasn't going straight across it was going like in a :-) pattern up and back one time when I got to the center of the pattern is shot straight up into the sky and reverse straight back down and went back into that swooping pattern while all this is happening I ran inside to get my camera to take a picture I went outside and the camera would not work I came back inside the house the camera would take a picture I went outside the camera would not take a picture in the meantime my wife caught her video working on her phone got the last 15 seconds of it loading behind the neighbors house and disappearing

Me and my husband and children were on our way home to manitowoc . We got to New Holstein, and we noticed a large bright white light in the sky. The light was moving very fast, it just disappeared after about 10 seconds. We could not believe what we just saw. It was unbelievable!

Was outside and saw a red light in the sky coming towards me. I noticed it was lower than a plane and had no noise at all. Called my brother and he went out and saw it also. It then changed direction and then vanished. During this time all the dogs around were going nuts also. I have never seen anything like it in my life.

Light, first believed to be a star or planet, started rapidly moving. The light object appeared to be round, near moon as you look into the sky, zipped back and forth for around 20 seconds, then disappeared. Nothing more to report.
