Three red burning lights, brighter than the brightest stars. I was walking from Pasadena to Temple City and caught the 3 what first looked like flares at the end of a star in the eastern sky over Irwindale Ca.. I watched as one flashed and ascended straight up, changing to a light color with sections. It then dimmed and went dark in its ascent. The other 2 stayed stationary for a few minutes before moving into a line. One moving in a lower position behind the higher one in a direct line heading up. They both flashed a couple of times in multi colors returning to red. The first rose and changed to a light color as the first had, it dimmed and rose till dark. The third followed the 2 previous in its slow changing and vanishing act from the night sky, in the same direction and spot of complete darken of lights.

Driving in the car, we spotted several brilliant reddish-orange lights traveling from west to east strung out along the sky. They seemed to arise from the western horizon behind the trees. They made absolutely no noise, which is why it appeared unusual to us. They flickered slightly. They were brighter than any stars or planets. They flew overhead and disappeared into the clouds to the east one by one. There was first a grouping of 6 followed by 5 more after an interval of maybe a minute. At one point, one of them passed the one ahead of it, but otherwise they seemed to move at about the same speed, similar to that of an airplane.

A very big bright reddish orange sort of flickering light came from the South East and went straight across the sky diectly over-head. It was an unusually big light, unlike any type of light on an airplane or helicopter. It had only that one big light which stayed the same intensity and shape far in to the distant North West sky. It was below the clouds and made no noise. I am a 60 year old artist with 2 college degrees.

Deep Purple light moving South w no sound....makes fairly abrupt turn and goes North-North East and still no sound. Considering rate of change and light intensity I expected sound from aircraft. Also close proximity to 2 major airfields and hear/see alot of activity accompanied w noise. The color of the light and absence of noise was awkward. Noticed the color change from deep purple to light blue during the turn but went back to neon purple. No strobing of the light like an aircraft wing light...solid purple light. At approx 7:50pm on 12/20/2014, I walked outside and noticed something that looked like a sort of amythest-colored, purple-pinkish light in the sky. It was completely odd and caught my attention right away. It actually looked like 2 lights side-by-side, horizontal to the ground, very close together or possibly even attached. Brighter than a star.. well, brighter than Sirius (which appears in the Eastern sky this time of year) I started watching it, completely perplexed by the color. My first thought was that it might be someone playing with a drone, but it wasn't like any drone I've ever seen (I've seen a few in my life.. my neighbor even has a large one). The light was steady and brilliant, not flashing. It didn't have the typical red/green, flashing lights that you would expect from an R/C toy or airplane. It wasn't a satellite either. I'm former military (Navy Electronic Warfare) and I can assure you that I've never seen anything in the sky with the same color light. In fact, the sky was totally overcast that night, but below the clouds it was very clear and there was good visibility. No stars were visible, nor could I see any of the usual air traffic heading into the Bay Area because of the cloud layer. When I spotted the object, it looked like it was maybe 200-300 yards to the East at less than 500 ft in altitude... essentially over my neighborhood. At first it looked stationary, like it was hovering. Then it started to slowly move East (away from me). I noticed that I couldn't hear any 'drone' sounds.. nor any other sounds from planes, etc. As I watched, it seemed to speed up a little, the all of the sudden took a 90-degree left turn (at speed) and moved a short distance before abruptly stopping. I would estimate it moved maybe 200 yds in less than one second. I literally said “#@!*%$&!*” out loud to myself!! That's when I realized I had my phone in my left hand... duh!! I immediately launched the camera and started to record some video. It's not great video... the object looks really tiny, almost invisible on my Samsung s5, but you can certainly see it when playing back on a laptop, or something with a bigger screen. It looks like a white star moving away fr! om me and unfortunately, you can't see the purple-ish color, it just looks like a white dot. By the time I got the video going it had started to move Eastward again, slowly almost wavering a bit before moving behind the trees across the street from my house and out of my view. Several minutes later I was still outside trying to play back the video and one of the typical airliners that I usually see flew overhead.. I couldn't actually see it because of the cloud cover, but I could definitely hear it. So, whatever I saw and recorded that night was flying below the clouds and not making any noise. It wasn't a plane or any other celestial object, not a drone, missile, meteor, etc.... I'm somewhat of a trained observer... I have a military background and also have a couple pilots in my immediate family. Unfortunately, the video is only a few seconds long. At one point I tried to zoom, but it went out of view, then I un-zoomed and found it again. I'd be happy to share a link to my Google drive if your interested in seeing it. Otherwise, I don't really want to post it online anywhere. Curious if anyone else has report something similar? The color was amazing hard to describe.. neon fuchsia, pinkish-purple... really really odd, but pretty.

On Friday December 19, 2014, at approximately 10:30pm, I was on my back porch, looking in a southwest direction, when I noticed 2 orange-red lights coming over the Rocky Mountains. As they were making no sound I was kind of puzzled, and I asked my granddaughter to come check it out, when several more came over the mountains. (8 total) I then asked my granddaughter to get her aunt, her aunts boyfriend and my husband. We all watched these lights for about 1 minute as they traveled north. They all faded out one by one. Has anyone else reported these strange lights over Lakewood Colorado?

Bellaire, MI
Clear cold night, visibility and ceiling unlimited. Large, bright object to east of Bellaire MI, stationary in sky, approximately 10 degrees off the horizon. Object appears to have multiple flashing lights, white, green, blue and occasionally red. Experienced observers opinion that these lights are not consistent with aircraft navigation lights or a hovering helicopter. Same light set has been seen on 2 or 3 occasions in different parts of the sky, mostly to north of Bellaire, again by multiple witnesses. One aircraft was visible in the sky during this sighting. Sighting of Sirius. PD

Bright white light in sky yet lower than the stars in altitude. Slowly hovering vicinity. Able to see with naked eye but required focus. It was so odd that after arriving home i couldn't help but glance outside again and it rose pretty quickly blinking red white and blue. I can still see it but its risen into comparison of first glimpse.

While driving South on route 12 just south of Sherburne N.Y. my wife and I seen a very bright vivid blue light on the sky. It was approximately 11:00pm (23:00) On December 17, 2014. At first it appeared not to move, we observed this for a minute ,the location and color was peculiar so I pulled over to the side of the road . It was a cloudy night , the clouds were high , no stars could be seen in the sky. The light was located high in the sky at 45 degree angle in front us ,above route 12 . Then it shot across the sky very fast to our left from in front of us to a ten o’clock position . It stopped made a few short up and down , right and left movements and real small tight circles then shot across the sky to our right to a two o’clock position, it stopped then disappeared . The light did change from the bright blue to and amber color a few times while moving > I attempted to take picture with a digital camera but it could not focus in and take pictures But I did get 47 seconds of video on my Ipod . I estimate we observed this for 3 to 4 minutes . The light was high in the sky above an open field when it when out .

Was going in the back of my uncle's to grab a beer for the neighbor and I , and when I looked past the trees, probably 6 miles south of my location, I saw what I thought was an airplane. Then, when I went out front to get a better view, I immediately called my neighbor to come out because it had no aircraft lights on it, and was going east on a straight, and slow flight path. It was a yellowish orange light. My other neighbor happened to be walking his dogs, and he saw it too. While we were watching it, all of a sudden it disappeared after a minute. The weird part, is shortly after the object's disappearance, I saw an airplane with landing lights going in that same direction/flight path as if it were following the light. I live just north of Patrick Air force base, which may explain the airplane following the light.

((ADDENDUM FROM WITNESS)) Dear Peter, I was only estimating distances and altitude. I was in a high rise building on a balcony on the 17th floor overlooking the Gulf. I assumed we were about 200 feet above the level of the water and the lights were well above the height of the high rises to the south of my position. Distance out was just a guestimate. There was a high thin layer of clouds and the sun had already set. Hope this helps. I am certainly not sure what these were but thought I would report. Best, ((name deleted)) ((END ADDENDUM))

I was with my girlfriend, standing at the balcony of an apartment where I used to live, when I noticed that what I thought was an aircraft had stayed on one position for far too long. Just then, I asked her to look and what we observed was astonishing: In the darkness amid security and moon lights, we could make out that the light was quite high above compared to tree level. So we forgot what we were talking about and continued to watch this light very slowly descend over a particular house. It would glow slowly and then dim, dim, dim as it continued to descend. My friend thought it must have been an airplane but fortunately a few degrees to our left were planes flying to JKIA, so it was very easy to compare and tell if this was a plane or not. Definitely not a chopper because we were close enough to here any sound that could have been emanating from it. We finally got cold and tired and parted ways, but on getting to my apartment, remembered that I had forgotten to buy groceries, so without thinking, picked up some coins and left. After a few minutes I was climbing my stairs when I decided to check again. This was almost an hour later when I noticed that the big glow was now so dimmed but i could still make out its position between two trees due to security lights and the moonlight. But now there seemed to be another smaller light that was busy hovering around the same house as though trying to look for an opening to get in. I stood there for another few minutes, shook my head, and walked towards my house. By the way, I must mention that the following day, my girlfriend complained that she had, had nightmares like something was tampering with her body at night. She complained of being tired and disturbed overnight. Witness elects to remain totally anonymous; provides no contact information. PD

I was driving down the expressway south on 83 near New Hampshire street and from far left in the sky a very large bright green light moving at a fast speed went all the way from far left of my vision to far right, and it was so low and so large that i thought it was going to crash into the earth, and just when i prepared for impact it looked as if it burnt out. I have seen many shooting stars in my life, but this was much bigger and much closer to the ground, i know there must be many others that seen it as well..

There were orange lights which moved oddly over Seattle east to west. They changed direction and speed but were mainly moving from east to west. These objects were not drifting but were moving fairly quickly and changing directions. They turned their lights on and off randomly. There was a strange white light blinking on and off nowhere near them much further away which hovered for a long time then took off to the east. The event lasted for about ten minutes that we saw. It happened over a densely populated area not all that late at night. Hopefully others saw this too. My spouse and I watched the lights but I would be surprised if we were the only ones who saw them.

I went out on the deck Sunday night and first spotted a shooting star, I looked east and there was a very bright object in the sky that had colored lights, red, green and white, at first I thought it was a plane but the object did not move. I looked at it through binoculars and the lights were very distinct almost in a circular pattern but the object was too far away. It remained in the same position for the entire time I watched, which was about 45 minutes. Sirius?? PD

My wife and I were driving down the interstate towards the Cloud Springs Rd exit and directly in front of us in the sky flew a green ball of light from left to right, which I believe is East to West. It was very visible, and my wife actually thought it may have been a crashing plane until I reminded her that planes don't glow green. I imagine it may have been a meteor burning in the atmosphere, but I wanted to report it anyway. It was brilliant, and the first time I've seen something like this so clearly.

My family and I had just gotten back home from going out to eat and my son saw Orion’s belt in the sky. He asked if he could break out his telescope and look at the stars since the moon’s not out. We said sure and went into the back yard to do a little stargazing. We had been outside for about 20 minutes and had seen a few shooting stars and a few planes. We all kind of fixated on this one light though that my wife thought was a plane because you could see it blinking, but I thought was something else (honestly, I thought it was a star) because I was able to lock in on it through the telescope. I said that if it were a plane, then I wouldn’t be able to hold it in the telescope long enough that we could all take a look at it. We started watching it at about 2012 as it started to do some pretty weird things. First it would blink like crazy (white, red, and blue), then it would just sort of twinkle a little. Then it started swinging left and right, just sort of rocking back and forth. It also started bouncing up and down in the sky and doing loops (moving in a circle) in front of us. I saw three planes in the sky around this odd light that were able to move along like I had seen most planes do, but this thing was still in more or less the same place it had been at when we first saw it after almost half an hour. At 2040, we decided that we needed to go in since it was cold and the kids have school in the morning. We ran into my neighbor, who we showed the light in the sky to, and he said, “That’s cool.” And then went to get his wife to show her too. That’s when I came inside and started talking about maybe calling the local police or something. My wife was outside still, but when she came in she asked if I was serious, told me that she had seen the light go out and come back on again, and then looked up a way to report a U.F.O. "Twinkling" star, possibly Sirius. PD

While sitting on Indialantic board walk around 5:30 Sunday morning, again I looked up and saw a white that that I first thought was a star, until I realized that it was moving very slowly, after having been stationary for some time. Then the light began to get dimmer as it continued to move. This lasted for about a minute. It was not moving very fast or far, but it gradually faded, and then completely disappeared, while still almost directly overhead. Three weeks prior to this even, on another Sunday morning around the same time at the same location, I was looking at the stars and noticed one directly over-head, and it got my attention. After I had looked down for a few moments, I looked back up to see if I could see that star again. When I had looked back, I noticed that the light had gotten both brighter and larger in size since the last time I had looked at it. It continued to get larger and brighter until it was bigger than any star that I had ever seen. Then, still not moving, it began to get slowly dimmer. This lasted for about a minute, until it had totally disappeared.
