Le 28 juin 2009 à environ 4h30 du matin des campeurs sont intrigués par les déplacements de phénomènes lumineux dans le ciel. Un seul témoignage est envoyé au GEIPAN. Les évolutions décrites par les objets sont difficilement rapprochables des sources usuelles de méprises, exception faite des projecteurs de discothèques, mais ces derniers sont surtout remarqués par temps couvert et non par ciel dégagé. Dans tous les cas, il est rare que leur fonctionnement soit limité à quelques dizaines de secondes. Ce cas d’observation présente un haut niveau d’étrangeté et mériterait une investigation poussée afin d’en affirmer la consistance. Le GEIPAN a tenté activement de reprendre contact avec le témoin sans succès. Ce cas étrange reste peu consistant du fait de l’unicité du témoignage, et de l’absence d’enquête. Ce cas est provisoirement classé C, dans l’attente d’hypothétiques informations complémentaires. [GEIPAN classification C — Pas de réponse du témoin]

Le visionnage de la vidéo montre une méprise certaine avec un avion au départ ou à l’approche de l’aéroport de Saint-Pierre – Pierrefonds (La Réunion) : feux de position verts, feux anticollision clignotants. Cette observation de juin 2009 est rapportée tardivement au GEIPAN en février 2011. Même si le récit du témoignage n'est pas remis en cause (1 témoin principal et sa famille) et rapporte l'observation "d'une sphère lumineuse d'aspect métallique", toute vérification à postériori d'un phénomène lent ("10km/h comme un ballon météo ou autre…) est impossible. Aucun autre élément de type procés verbal ou visuel (photo ou autre) ne vient compléter le dossier. Le cas est classé C car toute enquête est impossible.
