Un témoin rapporte son observation faite dans la nuit du dimanche au lundi 14 juillet 2008 (entre minuit et 0h05) dans le ciel dégagé et clair. Il a observé au-dessus de chez lui le passage silencieux SO-NE d'une grande forme triangulaire sombre délimitée à chaque extrémité par des lumières rondes non clignotantes, de grande taille et jaune-orangé. Le témoin sort dans la rue mais le PAN a disparu. Un seul témoignage est recueilli. Compte tenu des éléments objectifs suivants : • beau temps, bonne visibilité, nuit noire. • vent faible, trajectoire du/des PAN compatible avec la direction du vent local. • observation de courte durée. • plusieurs lumières de grande taille aperçues par le témoin avec perception d’un seul objet. • couleur orange foncée, intensité lumineuse plutôt modérée du PAN. • observation effectuée lors d’un week-end de 3 jours qui correspond à une fête nationale. Il y a lieu de conclure que le témoin a très probablement observé plusieurs lanternes thaïlandaises (ou ballons festifs lumineux) portées ensemble par le vent et donnant l’impression d’un seul et même objet, lanternes lancées soit depuis Saint-Malo même, soit depuis Dinard ou l’une de ses plages un dimanche soir d’été, veille de fête nationale.
