Le témoin rapporte de multiples observations dans le ciel depuis 2011. Les derniers phénomènes observés se sont passés le samedi 12 mai 2012 vers 23 heures 05, le mardi 15 mai 2012 vers 23 heures 53 et le mardi 5 juin 2012 à 00 heures 19. A chaque fois il s'agit de boules lumineuses, brillantes comme des étoiles, se déplaçant dans le ciel en zigzaguant, pouvant accélérer, descendre et monter très rapidement et sans aucun bruit. Les observations mentionnées correspondent précisément à des éclats lumineux sur les satellites Iridium et Metop (voir les relevés Calsky). D'autres observations correspondent probablement à d'autres satellites : l'impression de léger zig-zags selon les trajectoires de points lumineux observés sur fond noir est fréquente, c'est une illusion, nommée autocinétique, dûe aux micromouvements que fait l'œil pour suivre le point dans le ciel. L'impression d'éloignement et de rapprochement vient des variations de luminosité des objets : un objet dont la luminosité baisse est interprété comme s'éloignant. Ce cas d'observation est classé "A" : observation de reflets du soleil sur des satellites. [GEIPAN classification A — Flash iridium]
