Trois personnes observent le 11 juillet 2012 à 21h30 le lent passage O-E d'une boule brillante de couleur jaune vif qui se scinde en deux avant de disparaître. Aucun bruit n'est entendu durant le passage. Après avoir rejeté l'hypothèse de lanternes thaï (déplacement vers l'Est non cohérent avec le vent du Nord-Ouest, séparation en deux objets), l'hypothèse d'une rentrée atmosphérique d'un débris spatial est privilégiée :la description du témoin, la fragmentation, la durée, le déplacement vers l'Est sont compatibles. Le catalogue Calsky des rentrées atmosphériques mentionne deux rentrées ce jour là, mais ils ne correspondent a priori pas à cet évènement (orbites quasi polaires). Le catalogue du BOAM (observateurs de météores) ne mentionne rien à cette heure là. Ce cas est classé "B" : observation probale de rentrée dans l'atmosphère de débris spatiaux.
