At around 2am I laid down to sleep and noticed a bright light in the sky that should have been moving if it were an airplane or satellite. Instead, it flashed/shimmered in one spot. Sometimes the flash would be on the right side and then on the left later. It just hovered in the same spot in the sky. After about 45 minutes of watching it I finally fell asleep. Initially, I thought it was a dying star, but it was exponentially brighter than anything else in sky. Additionally, the flashing/shimmering wasn’t on side, then the other, not all over it.

2 lights, about 4 to 6 inches apart from eye view, just over the roof of our garage in the eastern sky. Went over central Illinois regional airport. I first thought they was stars, but they were brighter than any other star in the sky. At I thought wow wth stars are those? But then quickly noticed they were moving. Ran through the house to see better and they disappeared over the tree line. Clearly, was no plane, although there were other planes in the vicinity. I observed an extremely bright light in the night sky above Seattle through my south-facing bedroom window. The light was blue-green in color, and moved eastward across the sky at a rate of speed I have never seen in an object before. At first, I thought it may have been a meteorite, but there was no trail behind the light and it was moving in what seemed to be a controlled manner. It also was moving faster than any "shooting star" I have ever seen. There was no sound associated with the object. Planes frequently fly over my location, but there were no other lights observed and, again, it was moving too fast to be a plane.

Driving NNW on Tompkins Avenue, towards Vanderbilt Ave., in Staten Island, NY (where I live), at about 21:50 (9:50 PM) on Sunday, October 8, 2017, I saw an array of maybe 8 to 10 orange lights, arranged roughly in the shape of a parallelogram, floating across the night sky. The lights were larger than stars or the flashing lights on the wingtips of airliners, and they were moving along in formation. The lights are first visible right after 21:50:55 -- keep your eyes trained on the sky above road. You can see them floating left to right when I'm stopped for a red light. They continue to be visible after the light turns green. At approximately 8:00 P.M. this evening (10/7/17), I saw two bright lights in the Eastern sky. Being a keen observer of the night sky, I noticed that they looked out of place. They were like stars, stationary, but they quickly faded, simultaneously! I thought this very strange. Even though my wife was outside as well, I was the only one to witness this phenomenon.

We live near Dulles airport and often see planes from either Reagan National or Dulles flying overhead, but they fly at a much slower rate of speed than this object, and we can hear them. This object was not only much, much faster than any aircraft, it was absolutely silent. It flew up and behind cloud cover, and instantly disappeared. We did not see any glow through the clouds. It could not have been a meteorite/shooting star, as it was arcing up instead of down. We only saw it for a couple of seconds, but that was long enough for us to know it was not like anything else we have ever seen.

Saturday evening my Wife, Daughter and I were outside checking out the neighbors Halloween decorations. The sun had completely set and there was a small amount of fog settling in. There were clouds just above the horizon. We saw a set of two lights in the West sky near the area of Kettering climbing at a slow rate from South to North. These lights were an equal distance apart and continued that way throughout the sighting. About 5 seconds later there were two more sets. This continued for approximately 3 minutes with a total of 10 lights all making the same movement. The lights were steady red (not flashing) and no sound could be heard.

Faint, glowing, almost misty sphere of white light was seen hovering and zig-zagging through the sky. The movement was continuously alternating and changing directions. The spead of the light would fluctuate as the patterns changed. Patterns moved in an eastward direction.

On the evenings of 10-6 and 10-7-2017, we watched a light in sky, moving in counterclockwise motion, pattern never changed, always moving in circular motion, very fast, moving east. Almost looked like a spotlight moving in circular motion, but didn't appear to be coming from above or below. Neighbors witnessed same thing. Lasted from 7pm till around 9:30 pm both evenings. We live on a farm and this was right over one of our pastures which has no homes, buildings or light near it. We attempted to video it, but it would not show up on video.

Multiple red lights, in groups of two or more, moving at steady pace from south to north, visible with naked eye, above western half of Marion County, in front of cloud cover. Speed was steady, not fast, not erratic. As they approached thicker cloud cover, we lost sight of them. Overall time span lasted about 11 minutes. They emitted no sound, no flashing or strobes. In each grouping, the individual lights did not alter position within the group, or individually speed up/slow down.

Reddish orange blinking light traveling low in the south, east to west, stopped then started traveling back towards the east, stopped again for a few seconds then started traveling towards the west, stopped again, appeared to rise or perhaps head in my direction, stopped again then headed east, stopped due south from me then dropped down to the horizon and out of sight

UNEXPLAINED BRIGHT LIGHTS FLYING SLOWLY IN THE SKY OVER CROWN POINT, INDIANA. FIRST NOTICED DUE TO OUR DOG GROWLING AT THEM. THEY WOULD SLOWLY APPROACH FROM WHAT LOOKED LIKE A FEW MILES WEST OF MY LOCATION NEAR CROWN POINT HIGH SCHOOL, RISE INTO THE CLOUDS ROUGHLY OVERHEAD, THEN REAPPEAR FROM THE SAME DIRECTION A MINUTE OR TWO LATER, REPEATING THE SAME PATTERN. EACH APPEARANCE WOULD LAST PERHAPS 5 MINUTES OR SO. BETWEEN 3-5 WERE SEEN AT A TIME. THEY WERE COMPLETELY SILENT, NEVER BLINKING OR CHANGING INTENSITY REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY WERE, AND IN DIFFERENT GROUPINGS EACH TIME (CLOSE TOGETHER, SPREAD OUT, RANDOM, STRAIGHT LINE, DIAMOND, CURVED LINE, AND TRIANGLE). AFTER APPROX. 30 MINUTES AND 5-6 APPEARANCES, THEY ROSE INTO THE CLOUDS ONE BY ONE AND WERE NOT SEEN AGAIN.

My husband and I were watching tv when we heard a helicopter. Within a minute or so it got very loud and the windows started to rattle. It was obviously a military helicopter flying low. We have experienced this on occasion, but never have the windows rattled like this instance. My husband and I looked at each other, jumped up and ran outside, looking north. It was a clear night and an almost full moon, which was in the eastern sky. What made this encounter interesting enough to report was not just the helicopter. We are somewhat in the flight path of PDX and have planes flying over, so I know how fast they go. When we went out, the helicopter was just flying over our house in a NNW direction. In front of it, also flying NNW, was a small bright white light -- low on the horizon and flying VERY fast. No sound could be heard other than the helicopter. Interestingly, there were two airplanes flying south higher then the light and the helicopter. They had typical airplane lights and followed the normal flight pattern we usually see from planes flying over. Again, what was noteworthy about this experience was the speed and low altitude at which the white light was traveling, plus the military helicopter following it (I don't know if I would say pursuing it). I don't know if the light was ET, but we would definitely call it a UFO because of the nature of the encounter. Maybe something military?

Witnessed a small bright white light moving from the northwest to the southeast at an incredible speed. It went from one horizon to the other in less than 90 seconds. Object moved in a straight line and never deviated. There was no sound involved. The object was not a satellite as it appeared to be roughly 20 to 30 thousand feet elevation and was moving above mach 3.

On 10-04-17, my daughter and I saw some strange lights in the sky and couldn't figure them out. My daughter and I are both adults who enjoy watching the sky at night. We are both detail oriented and I am a voracious reader. At approximately 6:10 AM, we were sitting on our covered patio. It was still dark, the sky was clear, and stars were very visible. The outside temperature was 51 degrees F. We noticed a very bright "star" stationary in the southern sky and our first thought was that the north star should not be in the southern sky. We located the north star, right where it should have been. We then realized that the light in the sky was much brighter than the north star. We noticed that the light had begun moving in a westerly direction. We have a lot of air traffic in our area, so we're familiar with the speed airliner lights appear to move in the night sky. This light was moving faster than an airliner. All of a sudden the bright light winked out. A few seconds later there were red and white blinking lights where the bright light had been. The lights would move west, pause for a second or two, then move west again. The lights paused and moved west 5 times. After the final pause, the lights then began moving straight up. They stopped long enough to blink twice, then began moving east at an even faster rate than the bright light had moved. We followed the blinking lights for nearly a minute, then they disappeared. We have witnessed strange lights in the southern sky on several occasions over the last few years. I finally decided to see if there could be an explanation for them. Summer of 2013, around the 4th of July, about 10 PM, I was on our patio, when I saw a bright light in the southern sky arc from the treeline. It reached what would have been the apex of the arc and simply winked out. Two seconds later another bright light followed the same trajectory from the treeline to the apex and winked out. Two seconds after that a third bright light followed the same path as the other two and winked out. Initially, since it was fireworks season, I assumed they were just fireworks. Then I realized that there was no noise, no flash, nothing. The lights just winked out. The lights were puzzling because fireworks, by their very nature, cannot maintain such precise trajectories, especially along an identical path.
