Ce cas d'observation, anciennement nommé LORGUES (83) 14.05.1995, fait partie de cas classés « D » par le SEPRA et qui font aujourd'hui l'objet d'un réexamen (voir le document Notes d'enquête). Le 14 mai 1995, un témoin, seul en camping isolé, aperçoit entre les arbres mais proche de lui, un PAN lumineux, en forme d'œuf, silencieux et stationnaire à environ 1 mètre du sol. Le témoin tente de prendre l'objet en photo mais l'appareil se bloque. Le PAN semble alors changer de volume et se déplacer vers le témoin qui prend peur et s'enfuit pour appeler la gendarmerie. Il regagnera sa tente en leur présence. Lors de l'enquête aucune trace au sol ou dans la végétation ne sera remarquée par les gendarmes et aucun autre témoignage ne sera recueilli. Aucun vol d’appareil militaire n’a eu lieu le soir de l’observation sur la zone concernée. Ce cas est peu consistant (témoin unique et isolé), la description du PAN observé est assez précise. La sincérité et la crédibilité du témoin n'ont jamais été mises en doute. Cependant, l’imprécision au niveau des horaires est un sérieux handicap pour identifier formellement le PAN. Le phénomène décrit présente beaucoup de caractéristiques communes (direction d'observation, forme, taille, couleur) avec un objet astronomique parfaitement connu : la Lune. Ce n'est pas la perception visuelle du témoin qui est en cause, mais l'interprétation que le témoin fait de son observation à travers son ressenti (panique, fatigue, observation de nuit). Dans la classification actuelle du GEIPAN, ce cas d'étrangeté faible est classé « C », cas non identifiable par manque de données, bien qu’une méprise avec la Lune soit envisagée.
