Southport, IN

Friday, July 24th, 2015. Time: 12:30 - 12:45 PM, IN. DST Location: Southport, IN. 46237 Viewed orb of extreme brilliance in the South Eastern sky, just a hand's width of distance (from my point of view) in perspective, from the sun. It was to the left and below the sun's high noon arc. This made it impossible to capture on camera or video, it was a very bright and sunny day. The object appeared to be within our atmosphere and its size was approximately equal to that of a silver dollar from my vantage point. The orb appeared to have at least 2 bands (forming a plus symbol), which surrounded its outer shell. Those bands appeared to have several dark spots, or port holes. The most comprehensible description of this object would be very similar to 2 of our modern observatory's attached together to form a ball, while adding an additional band to that circumference. Object never appeared to move and was far brighter than sun. It appeared to be a blue-white orb of light, very much like the white flame of an extremely high powered torch. I used field binoculars and a telescope, in an attempt to view the orb, but the combined brilliance of it and the sun made that impossible also. I was able to clearly view the object for 15 minutes before minor clouding eventually moved across field of view. The object was gone upon the clouds passing. I researched online into various possibilities of what was being seen, but nothing is visible in that section of sky at this particular time of day. There were no reports of space junk, debris, balloons, etc. It was not Venus, Jupiter or Mars, they would not be in that part of the sky, no that brilliant and visible at this time of day. I live in an excellent area for airport traffic, and am very familiar with every aircraft that passes overhead. I am an avid watcher of the skies, day and night. I have studied them for over 25 years & have never witnessed anything I could not explain, or find an explanation for...until this particular sighting. It was as impressive as it is perplexing.

Two bright orange lights appeared in the eastern sky, about 5 degrees apart. They were headed in a west/southwesterly direction about twice as fast as the other visible airplanes at the time. When viewed through the binoculars (7X35) they looked like spheres lit from within and the light source appeared to be at the relative top of the sphere to me. My friend who also looked through the binoculars saw the light at the bottom of the sphere. We watched them long enough to call to our friend sleeping upstairs, have him get out of bed, come to the balcony, view the objects with us for maybe 45 seconds more before they began to dim. One sphere appeared to stop and then head 90 degrees from its first trajectory. A few seconds later they both faded to nothing. We spoke at length via telephone with the witness, and she sounded to us to be quite eloquent and sober-minded. We suspect that she is a very good witness. PD

Tampa, FL

Late Tuesday night, July 21, 2015, around 11:30 pm to 11:45 pm I arrived home and got out of my car and across the field above the tree line in the low to mid part of the night sky I saw five orange/red spherical/oval lights slowly moving across the eastern sky from what seemed like a south to north direction. These lights were more or less in a line stretching about a fourth of the way across the sky as I watched them slowly move southward. They were not tightly spaced but had about same space between them: K One........Two.......Three/ Four (these two were one above the other with roughly the same ....... spacing, and seemed to be trying to get closer to each other) then........Five. They must have not been that far away from me because they were quite bright and bigger than stars. I don't know where they came from I just saw them there in that line slowly moving north. At a certain point (which oddly corresponds to where the visibility from my vantage point is unobstructed when looking at that part of the sky), the light of first object suddenly went dark, and after that when each of those objects reached that part of the sky they too sent dark. It seems that they may have continued on but moving east now ( but I could not be certain). This sighting occurred in Tampa, but in the Temple Terrace/Thontosassa area. These objects moved slowly, and I estimate I watched this for at least three minutes. I wondered if anyone else saw them? As watched it felt almost like they were putting on a show just for me as it took so long. I looked on-line, and it may be possible they were some sort of sky lanterns ( Chinese lanterns) as they are that color and move slowly. I can't be certain. I did not hear of any being launched. But it is a possibility. I always look up at the night sky and have never seen anything like what I saw ever before. However, there was a night in the summer of 2009 in which I saw on roughly that same area of the sky where the lights went off in last nights sighting; a strangely churning white cloud ( at night). I remember because I have NEVER seen a cloud churn and billow so fast. On that night I got a chill because I was driving home listening to a man tell a story about Moses and the cloud appearing in the mountain, when, as I pulled into my driveway, I saw this strangely churning cloud directly in my line of vision. It was late at night also and the synchronicity of what I saw and heard made me run for cover inside my house. So for me, I guess, that area of sky is indeed mysterious. I softened wondered if behind that churning cloud was a mother ship. Odd that the lights should disappear when they got to that part of the sky...

I heard a loud noise that sounded like an airplane flying over. I looked outside and saw 2 orbs flying right next to eachother, practically touching. They slowly moved away from eachother, still flying parallel to eachother and in the same direction. There were airplanes and other unknown aircraft flying around the area.

comin south on 57 just i saw a red constant light, unlike a plane because much brighter and not anykind of pulse from the object i couldnt focus on it though, especially it being just over the bay, i figure i was just before bayshore county park so i pulled in down to the bay as i am with my girlfriend i point out how its on the inside of the clouds which we very close to due to a storm rolling in it was just out in the bay to where we should have been able to hear or see it was a plane , but just couldnt focus on what it was, due to a kind of pulse of 3 differant colors red blue and like a white flashy color, as it was going to make land fall across the water but on same side i was on it made a turn right then left then started hovering above the water back and forth it would disappear and show up up the cost a couple miles in a few seconds come back and so on for bout half our til my girlfriend said its not to far lets go see if we can see it so we did head to red banks where i spotted it up the coast hovering illuminating the same colors north so went up the coast to look couple miles up never seen it after that but i pointed out to my girlfriend that it took us a good 20 min to go up the coast and what ever it was did it in the water went up and back bout 6 sec max she gave me that cuz it was nuts but i really believe was a total ufo

[GEIPAN classification B — Lanterne thai]

Kenosha, WI

I was driving south on I-94 from the Racine Modine Benstead Observatory to Kenosha, WI. I was with my 11 year old son. The sighting occurred at approx. 10:45 PM. The sky was completely black and clear where we were. There were very active thunderstorms to the south in Illinois at the time, maybe 6 miles or more south of Kenosha. The weather records for that date and time would define exactly where the storms were relative to Kenosha. When near the Kenosha airport a spherical object appeared fairly high I my windshield and proceeded to my left (east) at a very high rate of speed. When it crossed the left windshield pillar it was visible through my driver’s side window. It the angled upwards and shot upwards at a slight angle and disappeared from view. It seemed to be accelerating at that time. The object was spherical in shape and not very bright. It also appeared to be fairly “hazy” rather than a sharply defined spherical shape. When I first saw it I assumed it may have been an airplane coming in for a landing but noted that it was far too high and too fast to be able to land. I then wondered if it could have been a reflection from the interstate lights or vehicle headlights. I have never seen reflections like this before or since. I did not see anything else like it that night and I drove the same route weeks later at the same time of night on August 21 (another open house for the observatory) and never saw any reflections on that trip either. I also thought it could have been reflections of airport runway approach lights but never saw those lights on the ground on either trip or as reflections in the windshield or driver’s side window. I also wondered if it could have been ball lightening but the object was not nearly as bright as I assume ball lightening would have to be. It moved far too fast to be an aircraft and it definitely changed its trajectory while being watched so it could not have been a meteor. My son was in the ! passenger seat and did not observe the object but I did tell h! im what I saw and asked him if he had seen it. He can verify this. I would say that this would have to be called a UFO.

It shot across the sky fast like a shooting star, and I thought that it was at first (I grew up in the country and have witnessed many). It went from shooting across the sky, to almost a slow "glide." At that point it regained my curosity, I see airplanes and helicopters every single night here in Vegas. I'm not a dummy, I consider myself pretty street-smart. I am 100% positive I saw what I described. After the glide, it went out of view behind a tree, and disappeared.

This evening, at approximately 22:10, my wife noticed an orange sphere very slowly moving over the house from our backyard. She called me out to take a look. ' The object was a glowing orange (not like a Chinese lantern as I have seen those). The object had no blinking to it. As for size, we would say it was maybe 8-10 times the size of a star to the naked eye. The object was moving from north to south as we were facing southeast. It only lasted approximately two minutes total in view and simply faded out of sight and we lost sight of it. We moved to the front of the home to see if we could find it again to no avail. We waited 15 minutes or so and kept looking for it to reappear although it never did. This was something neither of us had ever seen. My wife is a 46 year old housewife and I’m a 50 year old program director. In all our years, THIS we couldn’t explain.

I am sorry I did not report this until now. I know it will be hard to believe but I know I saw it and now there have been other sitings I will report individually. I have been an amateur astronomer since 1994. I have an 8” Dobsonion telescope. I took it to a friends house to look at Jupiter, Andromeda, etc. I cannot remember the exact date, so I am guessing. I grew up in the USAF and love planes and aircraft of all types. I watched every Apollo mission as a kid. I have seen hundreds of launches! I have flown hundreds of times all over the world. I am an avid sky watcher. I started seriously learning astronomy in 1994 to assist with my sailing certifications. I have spent hundreds of hours watching the skies at night at different altitudes, locations, and conditions. I have seen hundreds, probably thousands, of meteors, satellites, planes, helicopters, etc. I can quickly identify a planet or constellation. My friends and me were outside on their deck. It was a beautiful and clear-as-a-bell night. No moon. Minimal light pollution. My friend asked, where is Jupiter? I looked up to get oriented. I looked over the peek of my friend's house and saw the usual comparatively large, slightly yellowish, non-twinkling dot of light that is Jupiter. We have all seen it hundreds of times. I knew it was out that night because I had already consulted my constellation software and noted objects, locations and times. However, I was not 100% sure this was Jupiter because I looked up knowing it was out and knew I would see it quickly. I assumed it was Jupiter because it LOOKED LIKE JUPITER ALWAYS DID! I pointed up and started to say “there it is” but before I made a sound, “Jupiter” moved to the right from a stand still, did a U-turn and took off. Hold your thumb up to the sky at arm's length. It moved to the right about half a thumb nail. When it made a u-turn, it dropped down about 1/4inch and moved about two inches to the left and disappeared. There was no dimming of the light as it “flew away”. It did accelerate. It appeared exactly the same as Jupiter in size and light intensity and characteristics. It did not appear to be in earth's atmosphere but rather, to me, it seemed to be in low earth orbit or higher. I said, in a fading volume voice, “did anyone see that”? The only response I received was “what did you say”? I had goose-bumps and felt weak suddenly. To myself “Uhm, Jupiter flew away. Did you really see that? Yes, I did see that. Are you sure you saw that? Yes, I am sure. Was it a bug? I wish it was. Where is Jupiter?” I frantically looked around until I found the REAL Jupiter. I could not talk and did my best to hide it. I never mentioned it again. It scared the hell out of me because nothing I knew of, in my experience, could do what I just saw so clearly. I had never seen a UFO before and was very skeptical because I could always identify what I saw from the many databases of flights and fly overs of all types of aircraft, space debris, meteors, etc. I spun my telescope around and locked in to Jupiter as fast as I could. I was shaking but I found it. I was so relieved when I saw the yellowish planet with its four large moons in my sight. OMG! I took a year of astronomy online at Ohio State. I have had physics, chemistry, biology, lots of math and am very aware of critical thinking and the scientific method. I did some quick and rough calculations when I got home. I guesstimated its possible altitude, speed and distance. The most conservative number I came up with was that it pulled too many G’s for any life form to survive, when it did it’s u-turn, and it sped away at a minimum of 200,000 mph. I started laughing (I was alone). I threw my pencil down and tore up the paper I was writing on, into as many pieces as possible and threw it away. No one will ever believe this! There must be an explanation. I cannot find one. Now what? Sometimes, I cannot get this out of my head. I think about it often. I don’t know what to do with it.

I was outside on my deck this morning and observed a craft approaching from the west, high altitude. A plane going in the opposite direction gave me some perspective on the craft's speed. It was traveling very slowly, and did not travel in a straight line, but rather seemed to meander. It came into my view traveling due East, then as I watched changes to SE and then changed to NE and traveled over my house and out of view. About 3 or 4 minutes later a military plane flying fairly low passed over going NW. The craft I saw appeared to be spherical. There was no sound or vapor trail. Maybe it was a drone? But how high do drones fly? And is it a coincidence that a military plane appeared a few minutes later headed in the general direction I saw the craft headed?

I saw a black spherical shaped object moving easterly direction, first saw it when it was over Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, I would say it was moving at the same speed most of the air force planes fly, so maybe 400 mph, it was just below storm cloud level.

for several nights in a row flashing lighted objects in the sky over Port Angeles. first two nights I observed two. tonight there are three, with one directly overhead. Muliticolored, sometimes mainly orange, sometimes a bluish white w orange rim. smaller orbs are bright red or blue. I am a photographer. I got several images at 250mm zoom using tripod and low light settings. remarkable images show a multi colored orb rabidly spinning and juking back and forth, splitting into two or three orbs and streaking leaving long multi-colored "tails". After all is said and done, they end up as one orb in the same spot. I am not a conspiracy buff. I do not believe in ghosts or alien or the bogie man. I am a geology researcher and photographer by profession. My girlfriend came out and watched for about an hour and also took pictures with a pretty good camera. if we are seeing it others must be too I would think. I don't like even reporting this, but I feel I have to because there is no information on what exactly they are even though around the world people are googling and photographing these orbs more and more. that worries me because they are definitely a part of our environment. I've even seen one during the day. I can't prove it, but I believe they spin the odd, stringy, geometric web-like clouds that are so unusual and "non-puffy". If anyone has any rock solid, scientific, information on what these phenomena are called or what causes them I would be interested. photos available on facebook at the light orb page. hope this helps.

Went out to let our puppy out. In the southern sky was an orange light. Too bright and wrong color to be a plane. Moving slower then the many jets that fly over our house on a daily basis and not flashing strobe lights. Was climbing and took a right hand, southern turn. No plane has ever done this and not a single flashing strobe light. The light got very small, very quickly. No sound at the approximate height. Should have heard something. The first time I have ever seen anything like this, very odd.

On July 12th, at approximately 6:30p.m., I noticed an unrecognizable shape in the sky. I grabbed my camera called to my wife to come see and started shooting. I watched as this grouping of multicolored spheres started to change shape and seemingly get larger, then smaller. At times they would stretch out a little while changing to another configuration. Sometime the largest sphere would become detached. There was an almost rainbow shimmer effect on the surface. After just a couple minutes, it was gone as suddenly as it showed up. I reviewed the images right away and zoomed in for a better look. I still cannot identify them.

A band I work with had just finished performing at a downtown outdoor festival. I was standing behind the stage area, talking with a musician, facing toward Lake Michigan, which was about 4 blocks away. I saw 4 reddish-orange spheres, moving slowly in the night sky, as if in unison, from the lake vicinity toward land, coming our direction. I showed the musician and he was captivated, like me, as we watched. They slowly disappeared behind a tall building. We wondered what we had seen, and then he said, “Look, there’s another.” As another appeared on the horizon, soon there were 2 more. That group of 3 spheres, or orbs, same color, moved the same general direction, quietly, again in unison and moved behind the same tall building til we could not see them. Again the sky was dark and we watched as slowly a group of 5 more appeared, moving the same general direction, slowing, as if in unison. Last, 2 more appeared and did the same thing, always moving slowing, ea! st to west, but disappearing. I got a few photos. I’m very aware of the night sky, and my surroundings and have never seen anything like this; neither had the musician who watched as long as I did, a total time of about 15 minutes. Never have seen anything I'd call a UFO, until this. Info. about witnesses: adult female, college grad, school teacher for 35+ years; adult male, musician/keyboard player, highly respected in the community for many years.
