Le mardi 22 octobre 2013 vers 19h50 un automobiliste est intrigué par un objet dans le ciel. Le témoin décrit un objet de forme triangulaire, composé de trois points lumineux rouge, vert et bleu. L'objet est stationnaire puis se déplace lentement et silencieusement. Les lumières deviennent blanche et il disparaît. Un seul témoignage est recueilli. Compte tenu des éléments objectifs recueillis dans le rapport d'enquête ci-joint, à savoir la présence très probable d'un vol régulier à l’heure et à l’azimut considérés, la délimitation de la forme triangulaire par des lumières identiques aux feux de navigation de l’avion concerné, le déplacement du PAN identique à celui du vol considéré, dans l’axe d’observation du témoin et la disparition du PAN derrière des nuages, de façon temporaire, puis définitive, de la même manière qu’un avion volant à haute altitude est masqué par des couches nuageuses parcellaires, nous pouvons conclure que le cas concerne l’observation probable d’un avion de ligne observé dans des conditions particulières. Ce cas est à classer en « B » comme observation probable d’un avion de ligne effectuant la liaison régulière Venise/Londres, éclairé par ses feux de navigation, et temporairement masqué par les couches nuageuses. C’est l’incertitude sur l’horaire précis de l’avion, et le doute sur les couleurs des feux rapportées par le témoin qui empêchent de classer ce cas en A. [GEIPAN classification B — Avion de ligne]
