Le 20 juin 2006 à 23h30 un témoin en forêt de Fontainebleau est intrigué par le passage d'un disque lumineux blanc-crème dans le ciel. La trajectoire est rectiligne d'Ouest en Est avec une vitesse régulière. Aucun bruit particulier n'est entendu durant l'observation de deux à trois minutes. Ce phénomène peu étrange de passage dans le ciel d'un point lumineux, selon la direction du vent, fait penser à une lanterne thaïlandaise, probablement lâchée lors d'une fête de solstice. La forme ovale, la couleur crème (l'observateur est dans la nuit noire, toute lumière lui parait blanche) sont cohérentes avec cette hypothèse. Le Geipan classe ce cas "B" : observation probable de lanterne thaïlandaise. [GEIPAN classification B — Lanterne thai]
