My dad and I were driving, and we saw a teardrop shaped object falling from the sky clearly on fire. Could've been an asteroid. It lasted for a few seconds (from what we saw) then we lost sight of it as we turned. Possible meteor?? PD

Walking outside and witnessed a very bright teardrop with a tail on it dropped from the sky. This was very large and bright. It was a clear night and the object disappeared when it reached ground level. Trees were in the back ground. Reminded me of a flare dropping from the sky. We have amended the date above. PD

While standing on the boardwalk at Daytona Beach, Fl, at approximately 2200 hours a bright star like object appeared to the North over the ocean. The object was large. It first appeared the be a star but then rose as if to hover. Movement could be seen while it continued its ascent. The night sky was clear and stars could be seen in all directions. The craft was bright. It was not an aircraft. There were no blinking lights like a normal aircraft would have. After approximately 7 minutes the object disappeared as if someone had turned off a light switch. The action was immediate. I would estimate the altidude at 4 thousand feet or approximately a 45 degree angle from the beach to the sky. I am 100 percent sure this was not a passenger aircraft or any other type of airplane.

We live in Santa Fe New Mexico and noticed a bright light hovering over our home, high in the sky, as the sun went down, it turned an orangish color. We have been watching it for over a half an hour now. It has not moved. It is almost directly above the Santa Fe Airport. (( We suspect that the object was a hig-altitude, helium-filled balloon. The object was at such a distance that it was difficult to determine the shape. The closest we could determine was a possible tear-drop shape. It was moving from West to East in the Southern sky. The object was being trailed by a short contrail which remained the same length unlike a true contrail. The object appeared to be a light gray color, but again it was at such a great distance it was hard to be certain.

Relaxing on deck when we noticed five solid white bright lights heading North to South. Each approximately 3-4 minutes apart. Each light disappeared completely in approximately the same area. After these sightings we saw a dim Teardrop object heading straight up! It Flashed so brightly it was almost blinding and disappeared. My roommate said "That's what I've been talking about!" As he had seen the same thing twice before.

We were smoking and looked up. It looked like a teardrop with a very long fiery tail. Moving south to north toward Wyoming. It didn't make any noise and was super fast. Moving about 6-7 times faster than a commercial airplane. Seems like it split into 2 pieces in the distance with 2 tails. Suspected to have been a re-entry of a portion of the Russian Cosmos 2495. West Hills, California, Thurs., 1028 pm, 08-28-2014. Sitting in my back yard looking to the north in about the 10 o’clock position. Two frosty white streaks appeared. Just for a fraction of a second they seemed to be falling vertically downward. Then stopped and stayed stationary. After 4 to 5 seconds they disappear quickly. They were right next to each other and perfectly parallel to each other in a vertical orientation of 90 degrees. Each were slightly wider at the bottom than the top kind of resembled what you could describe as a comet tail and were identical in shape and length.. I estimate that they were 20 to 30 mile away.

On August 19th of 2014, I was vacationing with three friends in Yellowstone National park. We decided to hike to Grebe Lake, which was about 3.2 miles from the road. We took off around sun up (6:00 AM) and drove from Fishing Bridge campground to the trail head at Grebe Lake. We hiked into the lake and arrived around 7:40 AM. There was fog on the lake and we waited for it to clear and set up our fly rods and equipment. I took three pictures of the lakes and my friends and we moved into position just to the right of where the trail enters the lake. I was standing ankle deep in the lake and my friend was standing right next to me. Our other friends stood together on the other side of the trail entrance, about 100 feet away. I heard a sound that made me think it was an aircraft in the distance coming directly towards me from the direction of the trail. I turned and looked directly over my head and directly behind me. The sound increased and passed directly over my head and moved towards the lake center. I saw two objects moving over my right shoulder and directly across the lake from me. They moved in a tight formation of one slightly ahead and right of the slower one. They looked identical in shape, size and color. They moved at the same speed. They seemed to be the source of the sound I had heard, as the sound changed direction with their passing and the sound diminished and stopped as they disappeared. The movement was faster than any thing I have ever seen. They did not change aspect as they moved and seemed to be the same shape and color as they went over. The sound was not an engine sound. It was not a jet sound. It reminded me of something large passing through the air, more of a pulsating sound. It was loud, but nothing like a rocket or jet engine sound. The two objects looked round with a somewhat pointed nose. There was no contrail, smoke or vapor trail. The angle in relation to the ground appeared to include an impact with the hills directly behind the lake. There was no impact sound or bang of any type. It was very quiet when they disappeared. There was no ambient noise on this desolate lake. There was no flash or smoke associated with their disapperance. I began yelling to my three friends and asking if they had seen the objects. They said they did not see it but did hear it pass over us. One friend said it sounded like "incoming artillery fire" when he was in the military. As we spoke about it we heard the sound again. This time not as loud and not directly over our heads. It seemed to be off to the right of the trail head as you approached the lake. There were at least two separate groups of campers on the lake. We approached each group as we fished and walked around the lake. The first group we met was a male and female, couple. I asked if they had hear anything this morning right after the fog cleared and they said they only heard me yelling. They asked if I caught a large fish. The second group had approximately four young adults. When I asked if they heard anything odd, they said "No, why"? When I said I saw something strange, the one young man said was there a flash of light and a song? I didn't respond. A few days before we watched an F-22 conducting a close ground practice for an air show or something in Davenport, Iowa. These things were much faster moving and made very little sound when compared to the jet. I have been in many small and medium aircraft and helicopters. I've sky dived from 14,000 feet. I attended and video taped the Paris Air Show in the early 80's and sold the video's through the magazine "Aviation News and Space Technology." I was a police officer for 32 years before retiring in 2006. I have never seen anything like this before. Sent from my iPad

At 1:30pm CST on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, we noticed a bright white object in the northern sky. It was slightly West of true North. It moved Southward (and a bit East) over the next fifteen minutes, until it was directly overhead. At that time it was obscured by the bright sunlight. The object was tear drop shaped, with the point downward part of the time, and to the right side part of the time. I took some photos, but they are not very clear on the zoom. It did not look like any airplane, balloon or other object I have seen.

My son and I were sitting by the pool at our apartment in Palm Springs, CA, at approximately 1940 hours on 07/19/2014. We saw reddish orange teardrop objects in the Southern sky towards Indian Canyon. They appeared to rise from the bottom of the hills and rise to the top. At first they appeared to be moving towards us as they were rising and then they just kind of disappeared. The first ones we saw there were about 5 of them and then we saw 3 more of them and then 2 more and no more after that. They just seemed to move in a almost straight up and then disappear. The first five we saw rose up really high and then disappeared.

Close Encounters in Joplin Area: Part Two By Sam Uptegrove I need to begin this week’s column with an apology. Due to a typo on my part in preparing notes for my files, I mistakenly indicated two weeks ago [Close Encounters in Joplin Area: Part One] that an encounter in Joplin took place in early August when it actually occurred on July 8. The full report is the subject of this column. Then, it was so hectic when I was writing the column last week that I completely forgot to give credit to NUFORC, the source of all but one of the sightings described. (Sorry, Peter. Oh well, they say as you get older your memory is the second thing to go, but for the life of me I cannot remember what the first one is.) That being said, the incident that occurred that Tuesday evening was a ufologist’s dream; three reputable witnesses, willing to be identified publicly, reporting a close encounter that left behind physical evidence of its reality. In addition, the initial witness possessed the training and experience to be considered an expert on objects and craft in the sky; he is an airline pilot. At about 9:15 p.m. on July 8, Barry Powell, the pilot, was walking his dog when he noticed a strange craft with orange lights in the northern sky. He realized almost immediately that it was approaching him, descending as he did so, and his leashed dog started to jump excitedly in the object’s direction. At that point John Cruzan, general manager of the Joplin Globe newspaper, and his wife Traci, who is a technician in the medical field, came around a curve and were confronted with this strange scene. They immediately stopped and got out of their vehicle, joining Barry in trying to determine what they were all seeing. As it approached the confounded trio could make out a huge object, apparently soundless and displaying multiple lights in of yellow, blue and orange on its underside. I said ‘apparently’ because every dog within hearing distance was barking excitedly. Barry’s dog was even jumping up toward the craft to the extent his leash would allow. When the UFO departed, still at slow speed, the witnesses followed in the Cruzans’ Jeep. They lost sight of it as it descended behind trees, but continued to an area they felt it might have landed. At that point even stranger things began to happen. A spotlight they were using, which plugged into the cigarette lighter, dimmed but did not go out. The seatbelt warning buzzer began sounding intermittently, and the vehicle’s automatic transmission began to act up. None of these oddities had occurred previously, and to my knowledge none of them have been repeated since. But the most chilling aspect of the incident showed up in its aftermath. On John Cruzan’ arm was a sizeable red spot that caused enough discomfort for him to go to a doctor, who told him it resembled an injury caused by a laser. It has since healed. I spoke with Mr. Cruzan about his experience earlier this month. Although he did not express it in so many words his attitude was clearly that of knowing the experience was real but also knowing that many people would find it incredible. He was unwavering, however, in the fact that he was simply describing the event as completely and accurately as possible within the limits of human vocabulary. I came away from the visit convinced that he was one of the most credible witnesses I have interviewed in years. Clusters of UFO sightings in a limited area within a relatively short period of have occurred on several occasions before, and the diehard skeptics insist that they result from a single case of misidentification receiving publicity and triggering the imagination of others, making them even more prone to turning the lights of distant aircraft into an alien spacecraft. In this instance, however, the witnesses were in almost all cases unaware of the previous incidents prior to having their own encounter. My wife and I were watching the fireworks in our neighborhood. I noticed an orange light in the distance off and on between the houses. Approx 10 minutes later it appeared moving in the sky again, this time my wife noticed it as well. We were in our pool about 15 minutes later and noticed 2 orange lights coming directly towards us and went directly overhead. They were orange, kind of oval to tear drop shaped, one right behind the other (maybe 200- 300 feet behind the other) No other lights, they were not pulsating (not Chinese lanterns) and most importantly NO sound whatsoever. Approx 5 minutes later a third light went directly over us the same as before. After that I saw two more objects off in the distance. That was the last we saw of these objects. I’m new to the area so I’m guessing the came from the Northeast heading to the Southwest, moving quickly but not extremely fast. Visible each time for a minute to a minute and a half before we lost sight of them.

At about 10:00 p.m. on July 4, 2014, I stepped outside, facing west in general, to observe the small fireworks my neighbors were setting off. When I looked up, though, what I saw was far more interesting than any fireworks. I am 50 years old, college educated, and a former UFO skeptic. I called my 85 year-old mother to witness as well; we both watched over the course of about 20 minutes. Initially, we saw 5 orange-red objects arranged in a V-configuration in the area of the sky as we looked toward the Big Dipper. They hovered and moved very slowly, moving independent of each other. They maintained a steady orange-red circular glow at the bottom of the objects, and the objects themselves were dark but their base and outline seemed almost lantern-like in shape and appearance. I chose the description "teardrop" to most closely describe what I saw, but again, they seemed somewhat lantern-like, tapering more narrow toward the top. These objects seemed to be observing the activities below them. After about 5 minutes, they moved off from each other, first very slowly and almost imperceptibly, then one by one ascended toward the northwest horizon and eventually disappeared as a pin-dot at what seemed to be a very high altitude in the atmosphere. They each seemed to accelerate rapidly as they disappeared. About 10 minutes after this first sighting, another such object approached at a fairly low altitude (perhaps 500 ft. to 1000 ft.) from the southeast, traveling very slowly. It moved to where we were looking toward the northwest, then hovered for about a minute or two. It followed a curved trajectory as it slowly moved to the southwest horizon, paused, then ascended rather rapidly and accelerated away to the northwest. This craft seemed to have a very thin white ring surrounding it, barely perceptible, and almost translucent in appearance. It maintained this white ring as it noiselessly accelerated toward the nort! hwest as the other objects had done. I must emphasize that all of these objects moved absolutely noiselessly. Finally, about 5 minutes after that object, the last object appeared overhead, this time approaching from the northeast, and headed westward, before slowing to a hover. Then it seemed to drop in altitude and come toward us (our neighborhood, anyway), as if to be coming lower for a closer look at the activity and at us; I would estimate it was no higher than 500 ft. At that point, the street lamp across the street lost power, although its power was restored about 5 minutes later. My mother became frightened and implored me to retreat into the house, as she had a sense it was coming right at me. It seemed that way to me too, but I did not feel frightened, but was far more curious. It loitered about 20 or 30 seconds, then moved away toward the northwest and high altitude, as the others had done. It also had the interesting white translucent "ring" around it that remained steady as it moved off, which struck me as being so! me manifestation of a self-contained energy field. I tried to get pictures of these objects but unfortunately I was unsuccessful (cheap cameras and background light were probably at fault). As of 10:23 p.m., that seemed to be the end of the incident. Also relevant is that the meteorological conditions included a clear sky, occasional breeze 0-5 mph, no rain, and a temperature around 74 degrees F; all was calm weather-wise.

My wife was taking pictures of the rapid weather change across the lake, and at the time no one had seen the actual element which is in the picture. There was 6 of us out enjoyig the night and when my wife was going threw her pics the next day she came across 2 with an object in them. There was no planes or flying objects at all that night.

Driving west on I-64 there was patchy fog to my left, and there was a bright light coming toward me. Right in front of me, the light broke through the fog. I saw an oval-shaped object which tear-dropped at the bottom. It seemed to be flying about 1000 to 1500 feet above the ground. About half way down the object, it started to turn greenish, and turned solid green towards the bottom. It was travelling about 200 miles per hour, and the light stayed within the object (rather than shining outside the object). When the object passed by suddenly, it looked like it was flying out of control, in a wave pattern, like a rock skipping across water (up/down/up/down), and then it vanished.

Here is a report as seen by my neighbor who lives directly in back of my house. Went overhead about 10:15 tonite. I don't think it was high enough for a weather balloon. It was moving fast and straight like it was being controlled and had power of its own. I was driving west on 595 at 8:20 pm and noticed a large round glowing object in the distance to the west. The object was round and glowing at first and then appeared to change shape and break into several other pieces. I took pictures of the largest one and did not realize there were many until I enlarged the pictures. I actually called 911 and reported it because it reminded me of what the space shuttle looked like when it came apart a over Texas. My wife also witnessed this with me and I have 10 pictures of the objects, so I know I did not hallucinate this.
